LOS ANGELES—It's tough enough in the "Land of the Free" these days to find a movie theater showing any XXX fare, and even tougher to find one that's willing to show classic movies with classic stars engaging in hardcore action—so when a local moviehouse like Cinefamily, which has set up shop in the former Silent Movie Theatre on Fairfax in that same-named district in L.A., does so, they're deserving of kudos—and adult fans' dollars.
It seems that bringing in the ultra-sexy fare has become nearly an annual event with Cinefamily, which in 2014 gave viewers such classics as Rinse Dream's Café Flesh and Nightdreams, plus hosted a Q&A with both the director and writer, and in 2015, showed the XXX The New Adventures of Snow White, Dracula Sucks (aka Lust At First Bite) and Through The Looking Glass—and this year, on June 24 at midnight, Cinefamily will be treating attendees to 1976's Alice In Wonderland: An X-Rated Musical Fantasy, starring Kristine DeBell as Alice.
Movie fans may be more familiar with Kristine as one of the horny campers in the Bill Murray starrer Meatballs, as well as a shitload of sexy TV roles in the '80s before her return to acting in 2012, but in Alice, as AVN noted in its review of the DVD release from Arrow Productions, she plays "a shy librarian who won't even kiss boyfriend Ron Nelson—but after she follows white-rabbit-costumed Jerry Spelman through some sort of twinkly space warp, weird things happen, many of which, aside from the singing and dancing, involve Kristine getting naked and watching or being involved in sex."
As we also noted at the time, Alice, which was directed by William Osco of Flesh Gordon fame, has been released in various versions from R to XXX over its 40-year lifespan, and it's unknown which version will be playing at Cinefamily, though it's likely they'll use the Arrow DVD which is XXX. Another caveat from AVN's review: "There's long been controversy as to whether the hardcore part of the fucking in Kristine's scenes actually involved her or a pussy double, and the fact that all of that hardcore is shot in close-up suggests the latter. There's no doubt, however, that it's Kristine who massages her own pussy while sitting on a sentient rock, nor that she's the one sucking 'Mad Hatter' Alan Novak's cock, so viewers won't be disappointed on that score."
The movie also features such popular '70s era adult stars as Terri Hall, Bree Anthony, Nancy Dare and Juliet Graham, so if local adult fans get tired of clubbing on Saturday night, June 24, they can head over to Cinefamily at 611 N. Fairfax Avenue (zip 90036) and watch some amusing classic porn featuring at least one gorgeous Hollywood starlet.
