SAN FRANCISCO—Pink and White Productions announces that it has added late trans male director Christopher Lee's 1990s adult films Alley of the Trannyboys (1998) and Sex, Flesh in Blood (1999) to the historical adult film archives on its streaming platform PinkLabel.TV.
The two pivotal films have been digitized thanks to the work of PinkLabel.TV, the films' producer and editor J. Zapata, and the Christopher Lee Legacy Project. Their release today is timed to coincide with and honor Lee's birthday.
Christopher "Christoph" Lee (September 4, 1964 – December 22, 2012) was a Chinese and Polish-American transgender activist and award-winning filmmaker in the San Francisco Bay Area community. He was the co-founder of Tranny Fest, now known as the San Francisco Transgender Film Festival. He was responsible for the world's first feature film starring trans men of color, Trappings of Transhood (1997). In 2002, he became the first openly trans man Grand Marshal of San Francisco Pride. Lee's death and the designation of his assigned gender at birth on his death certificate, rather than his self-identified gender, was the impetus behind the "Respect After Death Act" which was passed in California on September 26, 2014.
Notably, Alley of the Trannyboys and Sex, Flesh in Blood were the first trans-directed adult films showcasing trans men with cis male, female and other trans masculine partners.
Alley of the Trannyboys screened at the Frameline Film Festival. Festival curators note that the film "re-imagines sexual liberation for the outlaws of the past and present, claiming an erotic space for trans masculine individuals. A deeply subversive landmark of erotica onscreen, Lee employs distinctly '70s visuals and tone—within its own '90s VHS aesthetic—while projecting a rugged, hyper-masculine veneer onto its all-trans masc cast. The film presents six provocative scenes that celebrate trans sexuality and eroticism." The film is set to a hard-rocking soundtrack that included Tribe 8, Ace Chainsaw, and the Hail Marys.
London's second annual International Transgender Film and Video Festival Program presented the film, noting: “This first-ever trans-on-trans FTM porn flick is a hardcore hand-job of a movie that puts a few extra X’s in ‘explicit.’ The film that started radical transgender porn. Alley of the Trannyboys was the first feature length erotic film with an all-trans man cast. In '70s retro style, S/M, hot big cocks and sexy trans stars. Starring Angel, Buck Davis and a host of celebrity porn stars.”
Sex, Flesh in Blood was the resurrection of Lee and producer/editor J. Zapata, starring a cast of irreverent goths and playful sodomites including trans male porn star Angel and Jade-Blue Eclipse, among others. This morbid tribute to '80s gender anarchy and “fuck you” attitude has something to offer everyone of the Generation Sex crowd, from boot-licking to ball-slapping, public sex to anal sex, copious leather to corsets and gothic imagery.
Marrying Hong Kong kitsch with a hard-edged cult queer porn aesthetic and a touch of dark spirits speaking in Mandarin, the film follows Angel and Jade as they haunt cemeteries, railroads and Chinatown looking for fresh meat, and leather-men, skinheads, transpieces, vampires and cadavers collide. The music is industrial darkwave mixed by Vulgarian Lezboi and “slamming” punk from notorious bands Slow Club and Ladybug (from Taiwan).
Alley of the Trannyboys and Sex Flesh in Blood are available to stream exclusively on PinkLabel.TV, either with a subscription to PinkLabel.TV PLUS or by renting them a la carte.
