Charlotte Stokely finds that a recurring role for her in adult movies is the teacher.
Maybe one reason she embodies all the traits of an educator is that she is one in real life.
“I often play a teacher of some sorts,” Stokely says. “Directors love it when I improv facts I know about geology, health sciences, physics and other topics.
“It's really fun to utilize puns as sexual innuendo and also teach porn viewers random things. I feel like I wear blazers and pencil skirts quite often.”
And no one is complaining about Stokely’s revealing wardrobe when class is in session, or when things take a sexier turn as they tend to do when the first and only three-time AVN All-Girl Performer of the Year in porn history is on the screen.
Now as she approaches her 17-year anniversary in adult this month, Stokely may well be the busiest woman in show business.
In addition to being a full-time performer and sought-after actress, the 2020 AVN Hall of Fame inductee is a certified health coach and sex educator, Cupcake Girls Activator, brand ambassador, seminar speaker and moderator who at press time was in the process of writing three books.
Hence the nickname “Tornado Stokes.”
“I'm a helluva multitasker!” jokes Charlotte, who is represented by ATMLA. “When I put my mind to a project I fully dedicate myself and barrel charge through my to-do list.
“Even the way I clean my house I run in circles like a tornado. I'll grab all the items that don't belong in that room and drop them off into their proper room. Then I go back full circle and make other adjustments like putting the previously gathered items in their proper places…”
In this exclusive Q&A for the August AVN magazine cover, Charlotte discusses her upcoming movies, her background in holistic healing, her advanced studies and her high-heel collection, among other things.
AVN: How do you like your new house so far?
CS: Oh my god! I love my new house, it's basically a castle but I'm missing the moat filled with tiny baby alligators which would be so cool haha. It has a separate air conditioned casita which is so perfect as a pet clubhouse when I'm filming! No more meows from Kidden or the loud lapping of water from the old english bulldog, Tyson, in the background of my scenes! I actually had a fan write me that my "cameraman breathes too loud.” In actuality it was the dog snoring in the background! So I'm very happy about my new house!
What went into your decision to move to Las Vegas?
As with most performers, lockdown really pushed me to self-produce content and having an extra-large house allows me the freedom to have several varied in-home filmable locations. Las Vegas living prices allow me to do this and still be able to save money for my future and investments. Not paying personal income tax is a huge driver, plus it’s sex-worker friendly place! A lot of porn companies have moved out this way, too, so it's still pretty easy for me to film on sets out here. I have a basecamp in LA for when I'm shooting there! I guess you could say I'm living in both LA and Vegas.
How does it feel to be the only girl in porn history to have won AVN All-Girl Performer of the Year three times from 2019-21?
Honestly, this is still sinking in! Part of me wants to be humble and say "I strongly dedicated many years, beads of sweat and tears to reach just one of these accolades, with intense dedication to perfecting the craft of camera awareness, professionalism, etc.,” and another part of me wants to be like, "Whoa, I’m a fucking legend!" It's a tremendous honor to have my career recognized in high regards, as I do. My entire adult life since I turned 18 I've been filming porn. I don't know if any future All-Girl performers will ever beat this record...
We heard you’re not only ‘The Queen of Pussy’, you’re also ‘The Queen of To Do Lists’, could you tell us about how you’ve achieved a productive mindset and what drives you?
I learned that if something needs to get done, just do it! It bothers me at night how much time was wasted in the day and now today's project is carried into tomorrow! There is an interesting analogy my [Institute for Integrative Nutrition] professor taught me. You have a bowl, a pile of small rocks and some lemons. The lemons symbolize big priority or beneficial projects and the small rocks are other less important tasks. If you fill the bowl with all the small rocks there is no room for the lemons! So get those lemons in the bowl first and then fill in the rest of your time with the rocks. This might make more sense visually, but time management and prioritizing your tasks is very important!
It will be your 17-year anniversary in adult in August, what comes to mind when you think about that?
It's time to start planning Charlotte Stokely's 18th birthday!!!
Where are you from?
I’m from Salt Lake, Utah, but I prefer to say I’m from SL,UT. I’m a mountain girl who loves to go camping and play in the creek and collect rocks.
What are a few recent adult movies in which you performed that you’re excited about?
I just filmed two adult features as the lead role, each very different from each other. One is Under the Veil, a Catholic nun movie, but this one is much darker and sinister than the praised Confessions of a Sinful Nun!
In the beginning of the movie both my eyes are burned out by Mother Superior and for the rest of the film I am blinded! Truly blinded, with prosthetics over my eyes! I have never filmed a sex scene blind and this is a noteworthy challenge! If I recall, I am blind for three of the four performed sex scenes and I'd be pretty happy with a Best Actress recognition for the sex scenes alone haha.
The other feature is a 1950's period piece called Another Night in the Valley. I play a disgruntled, whiskey-loving, chain-smoking private eye searching for a missing girl. This role was soooo fun to play! To really bring this character to life I lowered my voice to sound gritty and very masculine. Acting is my favorite part of filming features. It's certainly one of my favorite parts of my job and the more challenging the role, the more rewarding and fulfilling to be working long nights.

I read you were a holistic healer from 2006-2012 — how did you get into that at the time? What was an example of something you would do to help someone?
Holistic healing is a passion and something I'm very skilled in. I enjoy helping heal people from numerous diseases by finding and correcting the imbalances in their body. I've helped reverse A thru Z! I've worked with ADHD, Alzheimers, gout, cysts, infertility, tumors, viral forms of STI's and different forms of cancer with great success. I actually ended that line of work to return to school but that's when I contracted with MetArt and SexArt and I put school on hold... until 2019.
Congratulations on becoming a Health Coach and Certified Sex Educator last year! What drew you to study for those certifications at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition?
I enrolled in two schools simultaneously in 2019 and I'm truly amazed with myself for maintaining straight A's whilst achieving great heights in my career. I found time management to be my greatest tool and would sometimes even do schoolwork on set in my downtime. I certainly missed out on some parties and fun events but I knew my end goal was bigger than a night of thrills. I am often asked sex education questions from fans and I wanted to add some validity behind what I was saying—not just experience but also the certification. So I earned my Sex Educator certification!
How is holistic healing and being a health coach similar or related, if at all?
They are similar in aspects of natural healing.
What went into your decision to go girl/girl only in 2006 and never look back?
I have a stronger attraction to the female form and feel a more emotional connection with females—their common softness, delicateness, and even taste is different than a male. I absolutely love devouring a woman; her perky nipples, the arousing wetness, and sensitivity to touch is very exciting to me!
How did those American Apparel billboards come about?
My modeling career with American Apparel lasted seven years and I loved every moment of it! Very cool to drive down Melrose and see myself on a billboard!
I read you are currently writing three books—one about health… how would you describe your writing process? (and, do you want to give any hints about the topics of the health book or the other two books?)
I'm going to keep these cards close to my chest... but yes, I am working on three different books!
How would you describe your collection of high heels?
My grandiose high heel collection certainly didn't happen overnight as I've been collecting high heels since 2006! My fans are mostly responsible for this collection as a whole. They know I love heels and over the years have generously gifted me my favorite brands Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo and Louboutin and others via my Amazon Wishlist. I have around 250 pairs currently and about 200 of them are on display in my Shoe Room organized by color. They are so beautiful to look at and film against. My femdom fans especially love it when I film with them in the background. Some pairs aren't allowed outside, they are my bedroom shoes *wink wink*.
Why don’t you watch scary movies?
I'm highly empathic, so seeing people in pain whether physically, emotionally, or mentally it really gets to me. I feel their suffrage. I know it's just a movie so sometimes I'll focus on the camera angles and lighting during uncomfortable scenes to distract me or think, “Wow, the prosthetics are really good!” I also don't want the things I see in movies to leak into my dreams. Happy thoughts, happy dreams. I'm a big fan of inner peace.
How has Will Pounder been a positive influence on you?
Will has provided me a safe space to completely be myself without filter and opened doors of intimacy I had long kept closed to focus on my career. He’s very supportive of my goals and he’s my best friend. We spend our free time laughing and having fun no matter what we’re doing. We’re a team and now we’re engaged!
What are you most proud of in your career so far?
My 2020 induction into the AVN Hall of Fame is my grandest, proudest moment! I will be teaching a Sex-Ed Masterclass to 100,000 men August 31... I half joked one day I would be the Oprah of Sex and well, it’s sorta happening haha.
I will always cherish being a Penthouse Pet, the opportunity to produce for Playboy, hosting the 2018 AVN Awards Red Carpet & AVN Adult Entertainment Expo! Influencing and teaching other performers how to be happy and successful while balancing work and personal life is so rewarding and I'm proud of myself to be in a position to do so!

What have you learned about yourself in adult entertainment so far?
I've learned that no matter how busy I am, I somehow can and will get busier! That being said, it's important to make time for your personal self. Boundaries are sexy, and be honest about what you’re willing to do or not do.
How do you see the rest of 2021 and beyond?
By the end of 2021 I plan to have one of my three books completed!
