VAN NUYS, Calif.—DreamZone Entertainment and DreamZone Passion have announced the cast for their upcoming feature, Romeo and Juliet, a modern-day retelling of the romantic Shakespearean classic… with an adult twist.
Romeo will be played by Rocco Reed and the antagonistic Tybalt by Anthony Rosano. Lady Capulet will be played by India Summer and Romeo’s ex Rosalyn by Andy San Dimas. The coveted role of Juliet will be played by Chanel Preston.
The cast also includes Tom Byron as the patriarch Capulet, Brian Street Team as Romeo’s loyal friend Benvolio, and Ann Marie Rios as Polly, a thoroughly new take on Juliet’s attendant (and lover). All characters are written as of-age adults in DreamZone’s production, a marked difference from the Shakespearean original.
According to director Lee Roy Myers, Romeo and Juliet will follow the well-known tale of star-crossed lovers but will also include all the passion and sex too steamy for conventional renditions.
“Romeo and Juliet is certainly a passionate tale,” said Myers, “but I am most excited to bring out the sexual aspects of passion between two star-crossed adults.”
Romeo and Juliet will be the first feature from DreamZone Passion, a line specifically geared towards romance and couples-friendly releases.
“The intensity and eroticism of Romeo and Juliet will set the standard for DreamZone Passion,” said DreamZone’s VP of sales, Adam Hasner. “We are blending Shakespearean-era and modern language and character stylings together to give this familiar tale something totally new and hot for consumers to enjoy.”
Shooting is scheduled for July 15-17. All media are welcome to inquire about attending the set of Romeo and Juliet by emailing [email protected]. Those interested in visiting the set should be mindful of the 405 freeway’s closure that weekend (July 16-17).
