CHATSWORTH, Calif.—AVN Award-winning adult moviemaker Casey Calvert announced Tuesday that she has exited her exclusive directing contract with Lust Cinema and Erika Lust, and is now a free agent as both a performer and director.
Calvert reported that the move to part ways with the Spanish producer was mutual and cordial, and due largely to the company's changing approach to production looking forward.
"Lust is focusing less on features in the immediate future, and that's really what my value is to them," Calvert said. "I still hope very strongly that we can work together again, but a contract just doesn't make sense for either of us this year."
Calvert was quick to praise Erika Lust and her team in regard to their support of her projects with the company. "I feel incredibly privileged for the creative opportunities Erika has given me," Calvert offered. "The movies I made for Lust were wonderful and dear to my heart. They are much more like little indie films than porn, and doing that work has been an incredible experience."
Still a top-tier performer, Calvert said she is looking forward to more time in front of the camera, but she has already begun her 2024 directing slate, including helming Everything Butt and Whipped Ass for Kink.com since the beginning of the year, and locking in features with two big industry players.
"I'm currently talking to several companies about how we can work together. I'm keeping those details under wraps for now," Calvert hinted. "I think it's going to be a really busy year."
