Carlos Batts Hosts 'Young Hollywood' Release Party

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Photographer Carlos Batts kicked off the release of Young Hollywood, his first hardcore movie, by hosting a party at Safari Sam’s on Sunset Blvd., co-sponsored by Adam & Eve and SugarDVD.

The movie is the third release in Adam & Eve’s new Independent Adult Cinema line featuring alternative porn productions by innovative directors.

Several bands featured in the movie performed at the party, beginning with The Word Pimpstress, who sang in a style reminiscent of Massive Attack, with acting out by Fellatia & The Gimp. Dirt & Bank, rappers from Baltimore, with DJ Ice, followed. Along with Renfield and Mudluscious, they performed to a club that was packed by 10 p.m.

Adam & Eve’s Bob Christian came in from North Carolina headquarters for the occasion, and sales and marketing v.p. Peter Reynolds rushed to the club after getting off a plane from Atlanta. Reynolds told AVN that the first run of Young Hollywood DVDs has already sold out. SugarDVD was represented by Jax and Shari B.

Femme Productions’ Candida Royalle and sex educator Jayme Waxman, in Los Angeles for a business trip, also stopped by. Their work is distributed by Adam & Eve.

Performers on hand included April Flores, Cindy Crawford, Veronique Vega, Heidi Mayne and Tee Reel, along with directors Wit Maverick, David Lord and Jeff Mullen of X-Play/All Media Play.
