CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Some adult companies have made pretty good money over the past year, due in large part to people being forced to stay home due to the COVID-19 pandemic—and what better to do with their time than watch porn?
Anyway, one of those success stories has been the camming platform CamSoda—and it's just made an offer to rapper Nelly to buy the St. Louis, Mo. area mansion he's owned for nearly two decades, but which has been vacant for that entire period, and which has been listed on the real estate sale site Zillow for a measly $600,000. (Nelly paid two-and-a-half million for it back in 2002.)
It's CamSoda's intention to turn the three-story, six-bedroom, seven-bath fixer-upper into a "porn compound" where the company could have multiple webcams running 24 hours a day in the secluded building, which sits on a 12-acre lot and also has its own basketball court, not to mention a three-car garage.
CamSoda VP Daryn Parker wrote the following letter offer to Nelly earlier this week:
"Dear Nelly,
"I saw that you just listed your abandoned St. Louis mansion at $600,000 on Zillow. I guess after sitting vacant for nearly two decades you decided now is the time to get rid of it. While it is in a state of decay and dilapidated, I understand how tough the housing market is right now amidst the pandemic and I would like to extend you an offer to purchase the mansion and turn it into a XXX adult webcam compound, dubbed the 'CamSoda Cam-pound.'
"My vision would be for the house to be completely renovated and turned into a state-of-the-art compound from where some of our CamSoda webcam models can shake their tailfeathers and broadcast from. We’d situate webcams throughout the compound (voyeur cams in the showers, etc.) and turn each of the six bedrooms into individual cam rooms. They would each be decorated differently and feature different 'themes'—a tropical oasis (paying homage to [Nelly rap song] 'Hot in Here,' of course), for example.
"I know you have an affinity for adult entertainment, having visited various strip clubs across the United States. I’d like to think you’d have it in your heart to strike a deal with an adult company like CamSoda and bring some adult entertainment to the masses.
"Get in touch with me ASAP."
While it's not clear from the letter whether Parker is willing to pony up the full $600,000 asking price, and considering that the mansion is actually located in Wildwood, Mo., about 30 miles from downtown St. Louis, the surrounding community might not be too happy to learn that people would be having unmarried sex on camera not far from their doorsteps, CamSoda is taking a big chance in making this offer—but what the hell? Times are changing, the mansion is walled in and no one from the outside will be able to peek through the windows to check out the hardcore, so perhaps it's not such a gamble for CamSoda to make after all.
