LOS ANGELES—CamSoda is offering an broadcasting position on its platform to a New York television meteorologist who was fired for camming on an adult site.
CamSoda VP Daryn Parker offered Erick Adame, formerly of Spectrum News NY 1, a salaried position as meteorologist on CamSoda. Adame had posted on Instagram Monday that he had lost his job at Spectrum when it was revealed he had been camming for other men at an adult site.
In the letter sent this week, Parker wrote: “In 2022, no one should be punished, shamed, scrutinized, marginalized, or castigated for participating in consensual sexual behaviors. What you choose to do with your body is your decision and there should be no repercussions for that. I’m glad you didn’t apologize for being openly gay or for being sex-positive.”
Parker added: “Being that you have such a prestigious background as a meteorologist—being on television in the biggest market in the country in front of millions of people five days a week and part of NY1’s Emmy-nominated coverage of Hurricane Ida and Tropical Storm Isaias—we wanted to extend you an official offer to become the first-ever full-time meteorologist for an adult webcam site.”
In the proposed position, Parker would provide weather forecasts five days a week, along with a few private shows for CamSoda fans around the world. The job would pay $250,000 per year.
