LOS ANGELES—Camming Life announces that its comedy web series Cam_Girlfriend has notched another accolade, this time in the form of a nomination for Best Comedy at the eighth annual Seoul Webfest.
“It is an honor to be nominated for Best Comedy at this year’s Seoul Webfest!” said the Cam_Girlfriend team. “It's amazing that so many new audiences from around the world have responded so well to the series. Camming and comedy are truly universal!”
The Seoul Webfest in South Korea was founded in 2015 and is the first web series festival in Korea and Northeast Asia. The festival takes place August 18-20 at the Lotte City Hotel in Seoul.
Cam_Girlfriend is a 10-episode comedy series that follows the life of Chaturbate broadcaster Chloe. The series covers Chloe’s struggles to balance her relationship with her boyfriend and her camming fans. Blending romance, comedy and more, Cam_Girlfriend accurately depicts what a cam girl goes through in their day-to-day life and gives the audience a peek behind the curtain of camming.
“It’s so rewarding to see Cam_Girlfriend get the recognition it deserves,” said Shirley Lara, chief operations officer of Chaturbate, the camming platform featured in the series. “We knew it was a great series to be involved with, and it’s nice to see so many people and film organizations around the world agree.”
Cam_Girlfriend was created by Ethan Cole and written by Cole and Michael Goldlist. The series was directed by Daniel AM Rosenberg and produced by Goldlist, Rosenberg and Jason Kennedy. The project, which stars Lily LaBeau as Chloe, was made possible by Canada’s Independent Production Fund.
In addition to the Seoul Webfest nomination, Cam_Girlfriend has received numerous other nominations and wins at other webfests and film festivals worldwide.
