TORONTO—Lily LaBeau is ready for her closeup on the new 10 episode YouTube series Cam_Girlfriend. The comic release from CAMGF1 Productions, Inc. is being promoted by a freshly launched trailer. In the short taste of the longer series, cam model Chloe Cables and her boyfriend Mike are introduced to the world.
Chaturbate broadcaster LaBeau plays Chloe, a cam girl who is struggling to juggle her relationship with Mike and her dedicated fans. Dave Keystone, the 2018 Canadian Screen Award winner for Best Host of a Web Program, portrays Mike, who quickly discovers the intricacies of sharing living space with not only Chloe, but her online followers.
“We felt camming was a fascinating world rich with comedic material for us to explore. It's a place where so much more than just sex happens; friendships are formed, art is expressed, and hilarity occurs daily. In an increasingly digital world, we realized there was no better way to look at digital relationships than through the lens of a cam model," states the executive producers of Cam_Girlfriend.
"The series creatively mixes the real world of cam models and the comedic addition of societal traditions concerning intimate relationships. The series analyzes people's continuing ability to find deep and meaningful relationships in the digital age, yet in a way that introduces humor to the many popular theories concerning that topic," states Shirley Lara, chief of operations at Chaturbate.
Cam_Girlfriend is created by Ethan Cole, directed by Daniel AM Rosenberg, and produced by Michael Goldlist, Jason Kennedy and Daniel AM Rosenberg. The series was made possible thanks to the Independent Production Fund.
