Brian Surewood Shoots Perverted P.O.V. for Diabolic

Gonzo porn stalwart Brian Surewood has signed on with Diabolic Video to shoot A Perverted Point of View, the series created by Mike John.

It’s Surewood’s first gig as a director, although he was a partner in Thomas Zupko’s Apocalypse Productions, co-producing Zupko’s first two features Anal Ball and Pussy Crimes. But, he says, “This is the first time I’ll actually be picking up the camera and shooting and directing.”

For eight years the Los Angeles native has been a tireless porn worker, appearing extensively in gonzo product for just about every company that makes it. Before crossing over in front of the camera he spent two years doing lighting and grip work. He came into adult from the mainstream film industry where he built sets for rock videos and commercial shoots.

The new Perverted P.O.V. will have eight scenes, mostly one girl each, but some with two. Surewood has shot one scene so far— with Selma, “a beautiful little Latina girl with jet-black hair”—and will be shooting two more this week. The format remains the one created by John. “It’s P.O.V., a little strip, oral, and then right into [sex]. I’m going to try to get as many anal scenes as possible.”

Surewood acknowledges that “it’s hard to follow Mike John,” with whom he worked several times as a performer.

“He was phenomenal, an incredible shooter. I have so much respect for him.” John completed six volumes of Perverted P.O.V. before taking his talents to Red Light District.

Diabolic owner Greg Allen says of Surewood, “He has big shoes to fill, but I think he has what it takes it to take the series to a different level and make it his own.”

The actor doesn’t intend to let his new career as director slow him down in front of the camera. “The deal is I can perform for other people but I cannot shoot for anybody else.”

But he also looks forward to more directing. “As soon as they get this line established,” he says, “hopefully they’ll be throwing something else my way.”
