HOLLYWOOD—Adult industry titan Brazzers feted its 20th anniversary Saturday night in true old Hollywood style with an exclusive black-tie gala at the storied Hollywood Athletic Club on Sunset Boulevard, with a veritable who's who of industry luminaries and power players gathering to bask in a dazzling evening of food, drink and entertainment. Part awards ceremony, part company tribute dinner (with three courses served during the proceedings) and all classically Brazzers-esque merriment, the event was hosted by 2016 AVN Best New Starlet and longtime Brazzers contractee, Abella Danger, who was introduced via a hysterical bit that began with a video segment in which she followed scavenger-hunt-like clues to a freestanding—wait for it—washing machine that magically transported her to the one that had up to that point been stationed with no explanation stage left, and out of which she climbed to take the podium.
Prior to that, however, attendees mixed and mingled in an expansive lounge area, enjoying complimentary cocktails courtesy of Toast Distillers with cheeky names like "The Rum Job" and "Whiskey Business." After filtering into the dining hall where all 300 invite-only guests were assigned a seat with calligraphy-etched name cards, the crowd was welcomed by Brazzers production head Ryan Hogan, who kicked things off by sharing a brief overview of his history with the company, recounting, "Brazzers has been a big part of my life for 14 years. I started as a scriptwriter—I met my wife throught that job. Over the years, I've gotten to work with some of the most talented, unique, cool people in the world. It's been a very unique opportunity."
He added, to wild applause, "The porn industry—I'll say it—is the coolest industry on the planet."
After Danger's elaborate entrance, she greeted the crowd with an opening monologue in which she filled them in on a bit of the legendary lore of their surroundings, noting, "Let's soak in this little fact: There are 300 people sitting together in this iconic landmark, where the first-ever Emmys took place in 1949. When the Hollywood Athletic Club was originally founded in the 1920s, it served as a health club for silver screen stars such as Walt Disney, Humphrey Bogart, Charlie Chaplin and Joan Crawford, just to name a few."
She then gleefully exclaimed, "And tonight, on September 28, 2024, it is being graced by the presence of ... Scott Fucking Nails! ... I am starstruck—look at the legend Madison Ivy! And the king of the memes, Johnny Sins!"
Pointing out that people had converged from the reaches of the U.K., Brazzers birthplace Montreal, her own hometown of Miami and elsewhere for the celebration, she then announced that there was one unfortunate piece of news she had to share: "I have just been informed that Jordi [el Nino Polla]—our beloved Jordi—will not be attending the 20th anniversary gala," to which the audience burst out in a roar of boos.
As it turned out, though, this lamentable news flash was but a ruse ... a short while later in the program, a quartet of ladies in Swing era getups began performing a tap-dance routine, and were suddenly joined by a tuxedoed Jordi, brandishing a black cane and becoming the centerpiece of the routine—giving a polished, suave performance that was met with thunderous cheers, applause and a spontaneous chanting of "Jordi! Jordi! Jordi!"
Though it was tough to top that highpoint for the evening, another standout portion was the induction of a new class of Brazzers Hall of Fame members: Xander Corvus, Toni Ribas, Danny D, Alexis Fawx, Cherie DeVille, Monique Alexander, Misty Stone, Manuel Ferrara and Kissa Sins.
"When I first got to Brazzers, it was actually a dream come true," Danny D said in accepting his trophy. "I know that sounds cliche, but they obviously changed my life."
Following him, DeVille remarked, "I can't believe I'm standing up here after 13 years of working for Brazzers with all of you wonderful people both in front and behind the camera. This is beyond an honor."
An animated Fawx, after thanking a litany of crew, executives and "all my co-stars, performers that know how to dance with me on camera," declared, "But most and foremost, I'd like to thank me for having these mighty mountains and a bomb-ass pussy!"
Offered Alexander: "I've been in the business over two decades, some of you guys don't know me, some of you do. ... Thank you to Brazzers for everything that I have been a part of in this industry, it's been absolutely beautiful. I've watched it go from VHS and film to what it is now. I love the progression that Brazzers has made making us safe on set. ... All of the crew, we are nothing without the crew. You guys do everything for us, we come there and fuck and suck, and you make us look good. So thank you so much."
Echoing Danny D, Corvus commented, "When I got signed by this company eight years ago now, it fucking changed my life. It turned my career completely in a different direction and helped me so much. I've made so many great fucking friends. ... This company means so much to me, and I'm excited to fuck in front of you and fuck all of you! Thank you, I love you guys!"
This was followed by the evening's only somber segment, a memorial reel honoring the Brazzers talent who have passed away over the years, including Shyla Stylez, Billy Glide, Chris Johnson, Dakota Skye, Dahlia Sky, Bill Bailey, Jake Adams, Jessica Jaymes, Logan Long, Raven Bay, Jordan Ash, Sophia Leone, Yurizan Beltran, August Ames, Jesse Jane, Jay Hefner and Kagney Linn Karter.
Others who took the stage over the course of the evening for various presentations included Mick Blue, Kira Noir, Alex Jones, Lea Lexis, Luna Star, Lily Lou, Abigaiil Morris, Ryan Reid, Mello Jackson, Ricky Johnson and Keiran Lee.
Once the ceremony wrapped up and the crowd began to empty back into the lounge for the afterparty—featuring a surprise performance by up-and-coming rapper/singer Coi Leray—AVN caught up with Danger to get her thoughts on being chosen to oversee this momentous occasion.
"It's always an honor to host an event, such as when I hosted the AVN Awards [in 2023]," she said. "That really meant the world to me, because that's something that every girl hopes to get chosen to do every year. But with the Brazzers Gala, it was very different because there's never been a Brazzers Gala before. So it really meant the world to me, not because it was something that a lot of girls wanted, but because out of all the girls that they could have chosen their first year, they chose me! And I was like, 'Wow! Like, why?' It really meant a lot.
"I had a great time," she added. "I was very nervous—I was shaking on stage at one point. But I had a great time."
