Branson on Porn: ‘No Frustrations’ for Guests in Virgin Hotels

SAN DIEGO—The news that Marriott will not include adult entertainment on the menu in newly constructed hotel rooms has provided a ripe opening for Sir Richard Branson, the British entrepreneur who never met a risk he didn't take. At a recent conference, the Virgin mogul reportedly said that in his hotels, no one will go wanting.

Branson was a keynote speaker at the recent Americas Lodging Investment Summit in San Diego, during which he wasted no time clarifying his intentions with respect to in-room offerings in the series of Virgin-branded hotels announced in September but still apparently two years out from launch.

According to OneTravel.com, “Richard Branson… wants his porn, and he wants you – the traveler – to want it too, when you stay at his hotels. At the recent Americas Lodging Investment Summit, Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group empire, addressed the topic brazenly as he took to the stage, noting guests of his hotels will have ‘no frustrations’ in that department.”

Branson also told the crowd that the two year delay is the result of more trouble than anticipated finding the right locations for his hotels, each of which will be different from the others. The Independent reported that “San Diego and Washington DC are likely candidates, and Branson also announced that one of the first sites will be in New Mexico overlooking the spaceport which will send his Virgin Galactic tourist flights into space.”

One can only wonder if porn will be readily available for the Virgin Galactic tourist, as well. Odds are the answer to that is in the affirmative.
