Bouncy Pictures will release Virtual Lap Dances #1, the first uncensored Universal Media Disc for the Sony Playstation Portable, on December 15.
The Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) is a hugely popular system that plays music, movies and games and also offers Internet access. The PSP contains a disc format called Universal Media Disc (UMD). Because of the rapidly growing market for PSPs, mainstream movie studios are beginning to release movies simultaneously on DVD and UMD. The UMD format so far is proprietary to Sony, which is the sole replicator.
Bouncy Pictures’ Virtual Lap Dances #1 so far is the only title that has gotten the green light from Sony.
“We have just been in talks with Sony for probably a solid month or two,” said Bouncy Pictures president Ty Endicott. “A lot of it has to do with Bouncy. It’s a really clean company. If you look at our box design, a lot of our covers have girls wearing clothes. We’re a very tech-forward company, and a virtual, interactive company. I think it’s a really good mix.
“Our titles are already interactive usually and that works really well on these devices.”
The UMD disc is about the size of a silver dollar and about half as wide as a DVD.
Endicott said that in order for Sony to give its approval for Virtual Lap Dances that it had to be classified as “mature rated,” though it shows the equivalent of X-rated sex.
“You can see explicit nudity and the girls do hardcore,” Endicott explained. “The girls strip out of their clothes and tease you, and they take the dick and put it inside and ride it cowgirl, but you don’t see penetration and there is no cumshot. … Our lap dance project is perfect for this because it already falls within the guidelines by nature of the footage itself.”
He continued, “Keeping it [with no penetration] has huge ramifications for distribution levels. It gives us a broader range.”
Endicott said that Bouncy Pictures does not have an exclusive agreement with Sony for the mature-rated UMD, but it is not yet known whether Sony will license more.
“This might be the only one,” he said. “The way we’ve positioned ourselves in the marketplace I think helped us get the opportunities other companies weren’t able to get. We are the first adult company to get approval for this kind of project.”
Among the starlets who perform in the title are Julia Bond, Finesse Navaro, Myah Monroe, Georgia Peach, Raquel Devine, Stephie Thai, Kelly Taylor, Jersey Jaxin, Courtney Cummz, Tiffany Rayne, Avy Lee Roth and Ashley Summers.
Endicott noted that frequent posts in numerous chat rooms and message boards indicate there is a burgeoning demand for adult-oriented UMDs.
“The demand for this is going to be huge,” he said. “The UMD quality is very eye catching. The resolution is amazing.”
Virtual Lap Dances will be a UMD-only release because Endicott said he does not want it competing with a similar DVD.
“That makes it more special,” he said. “We’re pre-selling it now and it’s a high retail item. It may be the most expensive wholesale title ever.”
Endicott noted that UMDs contain a parental control lock that allows adults to encode the UMD to “Parental Level 10,” which will prevent it from playing without a four-digit access code.
He also said that there have been a few adult-themed UMDs released in Japan, but that close-up shots of genitalia are pixilated.
“We have the only UMD in the world that shows a pussy up close on your PSP,” he said.
Bouncy is just over a two-year-old company that has released 36 titles thus far.
