LOS ANGELES—2022 AVN Best New Starlet Blake Blossom headlines the newest feature from production label MissaX, See You Next Saturday, available now in three parts at MissaX.com.
In the movie, Blossom plays Julia, whose marriage to Paul (Ryan Driller) is on the rocks. They've grown apart, stopped having sex together, and he resents her being the breadwinner of the family. Julia suggests they go to a weekend retreat to try and become closer to one another, and Paul agrees. They return home in an optimistic mood, the mutual attraction seemingly restored, but Julia has to travel for business right away. They plan to have sex when she returns next weekend, but Julia is back home early with an unexpected announcement.
Meanwhile, Julia's modest best friend, Christina (Lilly Bell), and her equally reserved husband, Vance (Will Pounder), are experiencing a similar lull in their marriage. With the newfound freedom in their marriage, he proposes a challenge for his wife: to swap spouses.
"This is my second feature with MissaX.com and [director] Craven Moorehead," Blossom said. "To make a long story very short, it was an amazing experience. The script was a little daunting at first, being over 40 pages, but with some rehearsals and great castmates it turned out to be one of my favorite projects this year.
"It's very interesting playing a married woman," she continued, "Her motivations, desires and approach to conversations is different from my own. I work really well with Ryan Driller and Will Pounder, so I was excited to have them part of the storyline. It was great to meet Lilly Bell and I'm glad to make a friend who is equally into acting as I am."
Calling the project "a beautiful story," Blossom enthused, "I can't wait to do another project with them soon and I'm looking forward to [See You Next Saturday] being one of my staple scenes that my fans watch over and over."
Noted director Moorehead, "Will Pounder is easily one of my favorite guys. He's a great actor and performer, but more importantly, he's just a good dude. We've known each other for a long time now and I know I can always rely on Will."
"I've known Craven Moorehead since I've been in the industry, he's one of my favorite directors to work with," Pounder echoed. "He's fun, efficient, talented, all while making the shooting process enjoyable. He brings a crew that's ready to work with great attitudes on set, and more often than not, I forget that we are working—the work day goes by so fast!"
Of working on this and other MissaX projects, he remarked, "We gave it all in the dialogue and performance every single time. When you have a company that cares about you and the quality of the product that we're making, we take pride and do our best to deliver the best version of ourselves for your enjoyment. I thoroughly enjoy all of the MissaX scripts that I've had the opportunity to perform in. It's evident that Maddy Burton and Missa X take great care and planning when writing the scripts and it shows. Special thanks to Missa X for having me perform in her movies."
"We all came together to make a great movie," Moorehead asserted. "Everyone gave their all, they wanted the project to shine."
The director especially praised Blossom, commenting, "I can't believe that sometimes Blake Blossom doubts herself. She was nervous about her acting skills, but she is easily one of the best actresses in the industry! Last year, Blake Blossom won [AVN Best Actress - Featurette] for her work with me and MissaX. She killed this feature, just as she did last year, and her memorization skills are awe-inspiring. It's very rare that an actor can memorize five pages of straight dialogue—fine pages! I truly hope that Blake is recognized for the tremendous love she poured into this project."
Moorehead also applauded Driller's performance, saying, "I can always rely on Ryan to bring his A-game. He's not only talented but reliable, and his co-stars love working with him."
Offered Driller, "Being close with the cast and having the crew there to bounce the scripts and characters off of really lets us build on the story and [develop] the characters."
Added Missa X herself, "We were so lucky to have the opportunity to work with Lilly Bell on this project. She's an incredible actor and such a classic beauty. Lilly surprised us by bringing an elegance to her modest and religious character. She stepped into Christina's skin, while simultaneously making the role her own.
"We're proud of this project and I hope you guys love it too!" she concluded.
