Black & Blue Media Founder Sherry Ziegelmeyer Passes Away

LOS ANGELES — Sherry Ziegelmeyer, known to those within the adult industry as the founder and owner of Black and Blue Media, passed away at home on the evening of Monday, October 19, after a long battle with cancer and a brief period of hospice care. Ziegelmeyer chose not to treat her condition or reveal her diagnosis to friends.

Ziegelmeyer’s professional roots were in publicity, starting out in the recording and radio industry, doing publicity for area rock bands and working at radio stations, including KLOS. She established Black and Blue Media in 2004. The company’s client list included A list porn celebrities Skye Blue, Ron Harris, Michael Ninn, and others.

Business partner and fellow consultant, Jay Moyes, said, "This was very difficult for everyone close to Sherry. She did not want friends and peers in the industry to know. She insisted we keep it secret. Sherry refused to admit she had cancer, instead telling a few close friends she had injured her back. We made her as comfortable as possible until the end. We held her hand and told her we loved her. Her dearest Silver Pixel, our kitty, was by her side."

Chaturbate, Ziegelmeyer's client of five years, stated that the marketing and PR copy writer would be "dearly missed."

With her passing, the multi-award nominated Black and Blue Media will close, although Moyes says there are plans to reopen soon.

Due in part to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, an official memorial is not currently planned for Ziegelmeyer, whose remains will be cremated.

“But, when industry friends can gather at an industry event safely, raise a glass, and shed a tear, an announcement will be made for a little something that would bring a smile to her face,” Moyes assured. “Some friends in the music business are planning an online commemoration, and details will be made available when ready.”
