LOS ANGELES—Adult virtual reality creator Badoink Studios has begun shooting VR porn scenes that utilize 100 percent CGI environments. Under the BaDoink Studios umbrella, VRCosplayX completed its first CGI-based production in February of 2023. The scene, "Bayonetta, a XXX Parody," stars eight-year industry veteran Alex Coal.
Coal, portraying the pistol-wielding Umbra Witch Bayonetta, takes on the strength of the Alphaverse, but not before a steamy encounter in an entirely CGI apocalyptic city setting.
VRCosplayX has been releasing a weekly VR cosplay production since its inception in late 2016. The studio is now looking to expand its playbook by shooting select scenes in front of a green screen and recreating the environment using 3D software.
Content director Lucas Elliot creates each 3D environment in-house and said, “Shooting with 3D in mind can be very challenging. Lighting is of paramount importance when shooting these scenes. If there are too many shadows, the chroma key process becomes next to impossible. That being said, we’re happy to rise to the challenge and our early results are very promising.”
Actress Coal has shot for VRCosplayX before, but never in front of a green screen. “I had a great time shooting in front of the green screen, I felt like it allowed my imagination to take over!" she said. "My viewers have been asking me to cosplay Bayonetta for so long! When I saw that she was the character I'd be playing it made me even more excited for the scene. I hope I did her justice.”
Bayonetta 3 was released on the Nintendo Switch on Oct. 8, 2022. In the hack-and-slash style video game, players take control of Bayonetta, who uses both melee and ranged attacks to take on enemies. Bayonetta 3 won the Best Action Game Award at the 2022 Game Awards.
"Bayonetta, A XXX Parody" was released on March 16, 2023, and is available to stream or download for all VRCosplayX members.
