B. Skow Signs as Contract Director for Girlfriends Films

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Girlfriends Films has signed director B. Skow as an in-house helmsman for both existing lines and new, high-end lesbian features. Skow's first projects will include new volumes of the studio's popular series Women Seeking Women, Lesbian Psychodramas and Net Skirts.

"You know, he dedicated a lot of his years with one company, which is impressive in this industry," Girlfriends vice president Moose told AVN, in reference to Skow's 18-year history with Vivid Entertainment. "When we talked to him, we didn't want a fly-by-night something happening and eight months later it's over; we look for a partnership and growth and to grow together.

"We've always been trying to do something new, something different, we always try to do a better job," Moose continued, "and with his having experience with doing big, better feature productions, a different quality, he works with different cameras, some other things, so after probably four different times meeting with him, we just really hit it off, and we thought he'd be an amazing fit to the team."

Agreed Girlfriends owner Dan O'Connell, "B. Skow is a perfect fit with Girlfriends Films. He is able to complement our vision and style, while bringing his own fresh ideas, cinematic skills and aptitude, and knowledge of performers to our sets. After many meetings with B. Skow, Moose and I have come to wholeheartedly trust him to capture everything our fans love best about Girfriends Films' movies—his enthusiasm truly matches our own."

O'Connell went on to note, "Even though B. Skow has come on, these movies are my passion, and I will be shooting my own movies at the same pace as in the past."

For his part, Skow offered, "I always admired Girlfriends Films for having a great reputation as a company and making such original and unique movies. After my first meeting with Dan O'Connell and Moose I immediately wanted to join their team.

"I always loved shooting girl/girl scenes, but I didn't have many opportunities at Vivid to do so," he expounded. "Girlfriends scenes are very real and passionate, much more so than anything else I have ever watched. I would never want to change such an amazing formula, so I hope my experience, camerawork and love for shooting sex will show through. I plan on making the best porn of my career for Girlfriends Films."

While taking the reigns of assorted Girlfriends titles, Skow will continue producing his own boy/girl projects under his nascent label Skow Digital.
