MELBOURNE, Australia—The Adult Industry Choice Awards (AICA) is Australia’s "night of nights" amongst the adult industry. Now in its fourth year, the event has become known as an annual highlight on the calendar of the country's sex workers and industry members.
AICA has made changes to this year's event—notably, opening the event up to the public. A spokesperson for the event said, “Extending ticket sales to the public is a major change this year. We’re really excited to showcase Adult Industry Choice Awards and give people a glimpse into the 'real life' of the adult industry."
Ticket holders will be treated to a five-star meal, drinks package, entertainment, and the chance to walk the red carpet with their favorite adult stars.
Nominees from all over the country are expected to attend the event, which will be held in Melbourne, on October 17. Awards categories include Best BJ, Entrepreneur of the Year, Best Brothel, Best Social Media Engagement, and Hall of Fame, among others.
"There is a group of gentlemen attending who were originally going to a stripclub for a bucks night, but they’ve decided to buy tickets for the Choice Awards instead. We also have a group of women who have bought tickets instead of their annual Christmas party. It will be such a fun evening," show organizers said.
For those who are unable to attend in person, the event will be live-streamed on a to-be-announced online platform. Last year 17,000 viewers watched the event's livestream and this year organisers anticipate 20,000 viewers to watch from around the world.
