Ramon Nomar, Aubrey Kate Discuss Male A-Lister’s Trans Debut

LOS ANGELES—When Aubrey Kate opened her Twitter DMs in early January, the trans star discovered a message that ignited a ground-breaking moment in porn.

“I’m ready!” it read.

For nearly three years Kate had attempted to persuade AVN Hall of Famer Ramon Nomar to perform with her in a scene. Nomar was always interested—but also hesitant. Even with the increasing popularity of trans content, straight males have been reluctant to dip into that genre in fear of being labeled as gay.

“It’s ridiculous,” Nomar said. “Here we are in 2021, and there is still that stigma.”

Nomar is determined to erase it.

A few weeks after his Twitter message to Kate, the iconic performers met in Los Angeles to film a scene for Evil Angel that will be released today on the company’s website. “I’m sure it will make a little noise,” Nomar chuckled.

Nomar and Kate’s tryst will also be the headliner of trans-themed movie—produced and directed by Nomar—that will be completed next month.

In an exclusive interview with AVN, Nomar said he hopes his decision to work with trans performers will start a trend that other prominent male stars will follow.

“People shouldn’t be afraid to try new things,” Nomar said. “That’s the message behind all of this. I want people to feel free. When you want to have sex with somebody, you shouldn’t worry about what society tells us we should or shouldn’t feel.

“Whether you’re with a trans performer or another male or a (cis) woman, just do what makes you happy. Do what makes you feel free.”

Kate said Nomar’s decision to work with trans performers will be remembered as a turning point in adult industry history.

“The world is changing,” Kate told AVN. “Trans women aren’t just a fetish anymore. Acceptance is part of the new normal. Being embraced by big-name performers like this and working with them … it will go a long way toward uniting everybody as one.”

The most decorated trans star in history, Kate said she was flattered that Nomar chose her as his first scene partner, as she’s long had a crush on the Spanish heartthrob. Three years ago, on the red carpet at the AVN Awards, Kate approached Nomar’s date, Phoenix Marie, and playfully asked, “What are you doing with my future husband?”

“That’s something I never forgot,” Nomar said. “We have a special connection. The fire has been burning for quite a while now.”

Indeed, Kate and Nomar have flirted on social media ever since. Nomar always seemed intrigued by Kate’s request to film with her, but when she’d press for a specific date, Nomar always responded by saying, “when the time is right.”

In January, Nomar determined that time was now.

The process started when Nomar asked his fans on social media if they thought he should shoot a trans scene, or even a gay scene. Nomar said 95 percent of the responses told him to “Go for it!”

Around that same time, Evil Angel owner John Stagliano approached Nomar about appearing in a showcase the company has planned for Kate, the 2021 AVN Trans Performer of the Year. Nomar said he’d accept the invitation on one condition.

“I told John, ‘I’ll do it—but I want to do it my way first,’” Nomar said.

It was then that Nomar told Stagliano that he was ready to try his hand at directing and producing, and that he wanted his first project to be a trans movie for Evil Angel with himself and Kate as the headliners. Stagliano agreed, and shooting commenced at the beginning of February.

Kate said her first romp with Nomar couldn’t have felt more natural.

“I’ve had a crush on him for so long,” Kate said. “We started going at it and I don’t know if we ever had to stop. It was probably the fastest scene I’ve shot in my entire life. When we were done I was like, ‘Wait, that’s it?’

“He was the dom and I was very submissive. There was nothing awkward about it at all. Everything about it was hot.”

Figuratively and—in one case—literally.

The most memorable moment of the scene featured Nomar pouring candle wax onto Kate’s chest and stomach. The heat from the wax was so intense that it left discolorations on Kate’s skin that are only now beginning to fade.

“I look like a cheetah,” Kate said with a laugh. “I could literally see and smell my skin burning. There was smoke coming up. It was crazy, but I didn’t want to yell ‘cut.’ It was actually very intimate for me.”

Nomar said his first scene with a trans performer didn’t feel much different than the ones he’s shot with cis women throughout his 25-year career.

“I see trans women as females,” Nomar said. "They have a cock or whatever, but for me, they are females. They look and act like females. Sex is with them is like sex with other female performers. So for me, I tried to be the same as I am in my regular scenes. I’m not into the penis of the performer. I’m into the female side of the performer.”

Longtime Evil Angel producer Chris Streams shot the tryst between Nomar and Kate.

“I don’t think there’s bigger news than Ramon becoming a crossover performer,” Streams said. “I’m ecstatic he asked me to be a part of his production, as well as part of his new journey in life.”

The scene with Kate is the first of many that Nomar wants to shoot with trans stars—not just as a performer, but as a producer/director, too. Of particular interest to Nomar are double-penetration scenes featuring elite male, female and trans talent, with the male and trans performers DPing the female.

“There’s a perversion for that, too,” he said.

Nomar is confident that the popularity of trans porn will continue to grow. Performers such as Kate, Casey Kisses, Khloe Kay, Lena Moon and Daisy Taylor have become some of the most recognizable names in the business, regardless of genre. And more and more stunning TS women are entering the industry every month.

“It’s time to open up the minds and work with everyone,” he said, “especially some of the younger people in the industry who aren’t open about how they feel. They might be afraid of getting a disease or whatever. But everyone is tested. We are all tested the day before. We are all following the rules, so it should be up to one’s self if you want to be open or not. People are going to talk either way, so you should at least do something that you enjoy.”

Nomar noted that scenes featuring trans performers and top female stars such as Angela White, Katrina Jade, Riley Reid and Adriana Chechik have been commonplace for years. The next step, he said, is for straight male stars to follow his lead. Nomar said he’s already spoken with one talent who is ready to take that step, and he’s heard rumors of others.

“This message,” Nomar said, “is for any guy out there who wants to work in trans: Let me know! I want to do new things, I want you guys to have fun—and I want to put it on tape, of course.

“Just remember that the material is going to be there forever. So you have to understand what you’re doing, because that material is always going to be a part of you. As long as you are OK with doing it, everyone else should embrace it. Being judged by people inside the industry is the worst. We are all sex workers. There is nothing else. We are all sex workers.

“How far you want to go with your sexuality is up to you.”
