Anna Polina Makes Directorial Debut With Dorcel's 'Second Chance'

PARIS—International production brand Dorcel announced Friday afternoon that AVN Award-winning European star Anna Polina has stepped behind the camera to helm her first feature for the company. Starring Carollina Cherry and 2021 AVN Female Foreign Performer of the Year Cléa Gaultier, Second Chance is now available on DVD in the United States from Pulse Distribution.

In her first major role for Dorcel, Cherry portrays Alexandra, a 30-something businesswoman who appears to have it all—a nice career, loyal friends, a physique that turns heads and a wonderful fiancé with whom she owns a thriving real estate company.

One morning, her fiancé Gabriel (Ricky Mancini), leaves their business—and their relationship—with no advance warning, throwing away the five years they spent together. After this unexpected breakup, Alexandra crosses paths with Laura (Gaultier), a pretty yoga teacher who lives her life by a simple mandate: We are all deserving of pleasure. Laura introduces Alexandra to her group of friends, and invites her to move into her apartment. Under Laura's tutelage, Alexandra is reborn emotionally, intellectually and sexually.

Also appearing in Second Chance are Ania Kinski, Axel Reed, Clara Mia, David Perry, Jpx, Michael Cherito and Polina herself in a key non-sex role.

"For her very first directing job for Dorcel, Anna Polina delivers a touching story that is very close to reality," Dorcel said in a prepared statement. "She presents the life of a young woman in her 30s for whom a breakup is not a fatality and who has only one desire—to give her own happiness a second chance."

"Second Chance really was a dream project for Anna Polina," added Daniel Metcalf, Dorcel's U.S. publicist. "While the specifics of the story may not be autobiographical, Anna drew from some lived-in experiences and aspects of life in both Russia and Europe, and this approach created a sense of reality and intimacy that can be felt off-screen. As a filmmaker, Anna's style is very original and extremely inclusive. The cinematography and camera work, the storyline, the diverse body types, the authentic sex ... Anna celebrates people celebrating themselves.”
