Just four years ago, Amaranta Hank was a sports journalist in her native Colombia. But after following through on a promise to pose nude for a Colombian magazine if her favorite team won promotion to Colombia’s top division of professional soccer. They did, and she did—and a new career was born. Not only did she pose nude, she quickly expanded her brand into adult videos, becoming perhaps Colombia’s best-known porn performer.
Now, Hank wants to share her knowledge, teaching the secrets of the adult industry—both on camera and off—to students looking to establish careers in porn. At her new porn “university,” which opened for matriculation just last month, the sportswriter-turned-adult performer teaches seminars on such topics as “How to Make the Perfect Porn Scene,” as well as how to deal with “fake and abusive producers,” according to a report on the new porn school by the Argentine newspaper Clarín.
But the porn courses, held at a Medillin adult entertainment club known as The Secret Garden, are not taught exclusively from a female perspective. Ramón Nomar, one of the adult industry's top performers (and a 2019 inductee into the AVN Hall of Fame) collaborates with Hank on the faculty of the porn university, assisting in teaching students “how to project my image as a porn actress/actor,” and answering the question, “What kind of porn actress/actor do I want to be?” according to a Daily Mail report.
The courses offered are not limited to broad, generalized topics, however. Another seminar evaluated the relative merits of various methods for achieving erections on set, “natural, chemical and mechanical.”
Another course takes a more sociological approach, versing students in the ins-and-outs of “how be a porn actress in a macho society.”
Hank, as quoted by the Mail, said that she opened the school in response to messages from fans who not only admired her work, but were looking to make career changes.
“'People were telling us that they were tired of their jobs, they were tired of going to an office, that I want to be a porn actor, I want to produce porn, I want to join the industry.”
Clearly demand is there for a porn university, and Hank now says that she is looking to open a second branch of her school in the Colombian city of Bogota.
The porn university is not the first time that the former journalist has venture beyond the boundaries of what might be expected of a modern porn performer. As AVN.com reported, in last year’s Colombian presidential election, she said that if her preferred candidate, the far left-wing Gustavo Petro—a former member of a Marxist revolutionary group in Colombia—were to win the race, she would reward the public by filming what would have been her first gangbang scene. But the race was won instead by center-right candidate Ivan Duque Marquez.
