Though the cause of Romani's death has not yet been determined, friends and family have indicated via social media that they strongly suspect it was due to a drug overdose.

News of Romani's death was confirmed by her father in a Facebook post. Her father serves as a coroner in her home state of Pennsylvania.

In his Facebook post, Romani's father discussed how she had long struggled with mental health conditions and drug and substance abuse.
