MONTREAL—If there's one thing Adult Time hasn't been doing these past few months (or ever), it's resting on its laurels—and as evidence, the studio has just announced that it has entered into a new partnership deal with 2D mainstream animation studio Bobbypills, creator of animated series such as Vermin and Crisis Jung (both available on Netflix France) as well as the cult project Peepoodo & The Super Fuck Friends, which will also be available on the adult streaming platform.
In addition to launching the Peepoodo episodes in the upcoming weeks, Adult Time is in the process of collaborating with director, French comic book artist and art director Meryl Franck, to produce an anthology series called Bambi Fontaine’s Midnight Stories, which will explore fantasies that can’t be captured easily with live-action filmmaking.
“I am a huge fan of the work Bobbypills has been putting out over the years. A series like Crisis Jung should be on any anime fan’s must-watch list, and is an uncompromising piece of art,” assessed Adult Time producer Frank Stacy. “Working with them on this new project is an honor, and proof of our commitment to keep pushing the boundaries of what adult animation can be.”
Peepoodo & the Super Fuck Friends is unique in that it was created specifically to guide adults through the complex topic of sex education in a funny, direct, commonsense manner. Season one of the animated series was so well-received that season two was successfully crowdfunded solely by its fans through Kickstarter. Season two will be available free of cost for all of the campaign backers on Bobbypills’ website, as well as become an addition to Adult Time’s growing library of animated content.
