MONTREAL—Adult Time today unveils Birth, a psychological thriller from writer/director Bree Mills that delves into the intense emotional complexities of pregnancy and infidelity, and the intricate dynamics that unravel when the desire to start a family collides with secrets and betrayals.
The project marks Mills' return to major features in the vein of 2019's AVN Award-winning hits Perspective and Teenage Lesbian, and stars Adult Time Ambassadors Casey Calvert, Seth Gamble, Leana Lovings and Tommy Pistol.
Calvert and Gamble play married couple Laura and Matthew, who decide to seek help from fertility specialist Doctor Bill (Daniel Shar). When Laura finally becomes pregnant, her journey to motherhood is rife with severe morning sickness and unsettling dreams.
A doula (Leana Lovings) is hired to assist Laura, but soon her bond with Matthew grows uncomfortably close, and Laura becomes more disconnected as her dreams evolve into vivid, unsettling fantasies involving three strangers (Tommy Pistol, Robby Apples and Codey Steele), while Doctor Bill observes and takes notes. Caught in the chaos of her mind, Laura begins to question whether her dream of starting a family is turning into a nightmare.
“This is the first original feature I’ve written and directed for Adult Time since 2019 and it feels so nice to be back in the zone after spending the last few years helping others tell their stories,” said Mills, who also serves as Adult Time’s chief creative officer. “To be able to do this with a group of people who mean so much to me makes it the ultimate comeback!”
