Adam Sandler, Christina Ricci Make a Porno

LOS ANGELES - Adam Sandler and Christina Ricci are headlining Hollywood's latest cutesy attempt to mine the subject of porn for feel-good funnies.

Now in production, Born to Be a Star showcases Sandler as an Iowa-bred nerd who discovers that his mild-mannered parents were celebrated porn stars back in the '70s. With "innocent" girlfriend Ricci in tow, Sandler embarks on an inevitably endearing, bumbling quest to revive the family fuck-film tradition.

For those who swooned at The Wedding Singer and guffawed at Happy Gilmore, the upcoming Sony Pictures pick-up holds promise. Response from real-life inmates of the porno psych ward runs the gamut from bitter indifference to rabid hostility.

"Stop the porn themed comedies," said veteran porn journalist Eric Danville. "They're NOT original or funny. Seth Rogen, Kevin Smith, Will Ryder, Adam Sandler, all of you. JUST STOP IT!"

His artistic imperative unheeded by nasally impaired Tinseltown profiteers, Danville continued:

"A porn-themed comedy should not be used to convey pathos, ethos, diamond-in-the-rough stories, coming-of-age tales, star-crossed lover fables, or ANYTHING that sounds good in a Starbuck's-and- cocaine-fueled brainstorming session. They are senseless wastes of artistic time and production money that could best be funneled to me. Now."

Sandler co-wrote Born to Be A Star with director Tom Brady, auteur of The Hot Chick and co-scriptwriter of The Animal. Brady is known in some circles as The Emperor of Ha-Ha.

The movie begins shooting this month. Danville begins shooting when his firearms permit clears.
