HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - Thanks to the charitable efforts of adult retailer Adam & Eve and Habitat for Humanity, a low-income family of six from Chapel Hill will have a new home in Hillsborough.
Work on the home began in March, when Adam & Eve's parent company PHE, Inc. signed on to sponsor one of the houses being constructed by Habitat for Humanity in Hillsborough. Adam & Eve employees spent over four months volunteering in 4-hour shifts to complete the project.
"The home is a part of 18 lots that Habitat is building in the Fairview Community," said Chad Davis, Adam & Eve's Director of Marketing. "This new community is part of a larger effort to revitalize the Fairview area by creating affordable homes and more opportunities for residents to take control of their neighborhood and work together."
Adam & Eve regularly contributes to the Special Olympics, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Red Cross and other charities. The company recently held a special sale on its website in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
