Adam & Eve Sponsors Habitat For Humanity Home

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - Thanks to the charitable efforts of adult retailer Adam & Eve and Habitat for Humanity, a low-income family of six from Chapel Hill will have a new home in Hillsborough.

Work on the home began in March, when Adam & Eve's parent company PHE, Inc. signed on to sponsor one of the houses being constructed by Habitat for Humanity in Hillsborough. Adam & Eve employees spent over four months volunteering in 4-hour shifts to complete the project.

"The home is a part of 18 lots that Habitat is building in the Fairview Community," said Chad Davis, Adam & Eve's Director of Marketing. "This new community is part of a larger effort to revitalize the Fairview area by creating affordable homes and more opportunities for residents to take control of their neighborhood and work together."

Adam & Eve regularly contributes to the Special Olympics, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Red Cross and other charities. The company recently held a special sale on its website in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce named PHE Business of the Year in 2005, lauding the company for its civic involvement and community support.

"The Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce is honored to have PHE, Inc. as a foundation club member and to have this opportunity to recognize PHE for its good corporate citizenship and generous support of so many worthy causes in Orange Type County," said Margaret Wood Cannell, executive director of the chamber.
