Adam & Eve Gets Strong Buyer Reaction for Dark City

CHATSWORTH, Calif.Dark City, the first of Adam & Eve's 2008 big budget releases, has been drawing strong buyer reaction since it shipped last week, according to Peter Reynolds, vice-president of sales and marketing.

"We've been doing very strong numbers," Reynolds told AVN. "Buyers really appreciate big-budget storyline features because they stand out from the huge mass of product in the DVD marketplace. Anything that's different from the norm is good for distributors."

The film-noir style erotic mystery, directed by Ethan Kane, stars A&E contract star Ava Rose and AVN's 2007 Performer of the Year Tommy Gunn, with Paulina James, Maya Hills, Marie Luv and a special guest appearance by Ron Jeremy.

"It's a two-disc set with all the bells and whistles," Reynolds said. "Buyers really appreciate the time and money we spend on these things. And we promote our features for months in advance, so there's a big awareness of the product. For Dark City, we've been sending out whisky flasks as surprise gifts."

Adam & Eve's next big-budget release, due May 20, will be Carolina Jones and the Broken Covenant, co-starring contract girls Rose and Bree Olson, AVN's 2008 Best New Starlet. The company is also currently working on Roller Dollz, a co-production with Zero Tolerance, directed by James Avalon.
