Adam & Eve Donates to AnimalKind

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - Adam & Eve parent company PHE, Inc. recently donated the proceeds from a silent auction to AnimalKind, a Raleigh-based organization that provides low-cost spaying and neutering of pets.

Long known for its contributions to such organizations as Relay for Life, MDA and Habitat for Humanity, the company has maintained a strong commitment to helping the local community. The AnimalKind fundraiser allowed PHE employees to bid on goods and services donated by their co-workers.

"Animals are an important part of many of our employees' lives," said Chad Davis, director of marketing for Adam & Eve. "It's nice for us to be able to directly affect our pet-loving community, and know that we are helping to control the pet population in our own backyard."

AnimalKind markets its "$20 Fix," a spay or neuter procedure that only costs 20 dollars. More than 4,800 animals have already had "the fix," with hundreds more approved for surgery. Donations make these possible. Each year, 20,000 sheltered animals die in the Triangle of NC as a result of over-population. AnimalKind helps lower that number.

The silent auction raised more than $1,220, enough to provide many low-cost spaying/neutering procedures to low income animal lovers.

"Every little bit raised makes a difference," said Davis. "We strive to make a difference, and hope to continue our work with AnimalKind in the future."
