The three X's in her name were there from the beginning: "I didn't 'earn that third X,' I've always had three. People misspelled it as two for a long time—they thought three X's was inappropriate. Everybody just put it to two. I started insisting recently,” says adult star Ana Foxxx. “People would spell my first name wrong, too. It's just A-N-A F-O-triple-X. I like threes: A-N-A, triple-X. I'm a Vixen Angel, I'm a Cherry Pimps Cherry, I shoot for all the awesome people. I fuck groups of people, I fuck guys, I fuck girls, I do Kink in San Francisco. I'm pretty well-rounded. I do all of it.
“Early on, I listened to a lot of people. I would ask directors what are they shooting, ask girls what they were doing, just conversationally,” she continues. “I would follow the trends. If it's something I would do, why not try it? Sampling stuff is what kept me in the industry for so long. It gave me a lot more avenues to work from. If I did only one thing, I would have been gone a long time ago. I've done A-through-Z right now, almost. There's a few letters missing, but I've almost got the whole alphabet.”
After seven years and more than 400 credits (per IAFD.com), plus 15 AVN Award nominations (with a win last year for Best Group Sex Scene in After Dark), Ana Foxxx is starting a new phase in her career, joining the boutique Spiegler Girls outfit.

"When I added Ana to the Spiegler Girls site, several producers and directors reached out to me directly to tell me how much they loved working with her, and that I would too," agency head Mark Spiegler said. "They were right! Ana's been a dream to work with. She's professional, responsible, a great all-around performer and ... always answers the phone when I call her.
"She's a great fit as a Spiegler Girl."
Foxxx says that signing with Spiegler "was a step saying that I'm responsible, and able to take the workload that he provides. I was pretty responsible before, but I probably couldn’t handle all that stuff back then. My body is ready; I'm ready mentally, physically to do all the stuff that porn has to offer. I've actually known Spiegler since I started, and he's always been the top agent. I think I've earned my stripes."
It’s been a good year for Foxxx, climaxing with high-profile projects released right at the end of the AVN Awards eligibility period. For one, Foxxx is in Captain Marvel: An Axel Braun Parody, out now from Wicked Comix. Foxxx plays Monica Rambeau, who was the first female Captain Marvel in the comic books. Axel Braun, who also cast Foxxx as Domino in Deadpool XXX, says, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ana on many occasions, both in all-sex movies and features. She’s gorgeous, always on time, always prepared, and she’s always delivered top-notch performances. But until the Captain Marvel XXX shoot I never realized how funny she could be and how versatile an actress she is. She was simply phenomenal.
“Her supporting role as Monica Rambeau generated an incredible amount of buzz among comic book aficionados because of the controversy surrounding Marvel’s decision to basically reboot her character as a blond white woman, and we played with that,” Braun continues. “The result was hysterical, thanks to Ana. She infused her role with so much humor and gravitas that we were all like blown away, and to this day we quote some of her lines and still crack up. There’s a misconception that doing comedy is somehow easier than doing drama, but the reality is that being able to make people laugh while remaining sexy requires an enormous amount of talent, professionalism and timing. Ana has all of the above, in spades.”

Another movie released at the end of September was Angela Loves Women 5, which was a favorite of Foxxx’s. “Angela is so amazing. I loved it. She is so creative with everything,” Foxxx says “I tend to forget about my own personal slutty stuff because—I fuck a lot? But I get excited for other people's things. Mine is a blur, I just get fucked and stuff like that. As long as people are watching it, I get pretty excited."
Angela White lauds Foxxx for her work in the movie. "It was a pleasure to have Ana Foxxx on set for Angela Loves Women 5," White tells AVN. "The vision I had for our scene required many hours on set and multiple trips across the city. Ana was a true professional and a trouper. The time and energy spent resulted in an incredibly romantic scene with a real ‘first date’ feel. Ana is an authentic performer and the eroticism and sensuality that she brought to the sex was absolutely beautiful. I’m so happy to have her in this movie and to welcome her to the Spiegler sisterhood."
Director Mike Quasar is also impressed with Foxxx: "She's lovely, and beautiful, and pleasant, and creates a positive working environment, and that's why she's popular, because some girls come on to set—not many—and they bring this toxicity with them. For a guy like me, who just wants to go home, it makes the day just that much worse. But Ana Foxxx makes you forget that you're actually working. That's what she brings, aside from her beauty.”
She's also been making a big impression at Sweetheart Video, where director Ricky Greenwood has cast her in three big movies: Girls of Wrestling, Alexis Loves Girls and an upcoming movie about women in prison that will be released in early November. "It’s my favorite this year," Greenwood says. “Ana Foxxx is amazing it in.”

Before becoming a performer, Foxxx says, "The first event I went to was an early Urban X Awards, and I watched the women being glamorous and being stars, and it just blew my mind. This was before I became 'Ana Foxxx.' I had been invited, and I was curious. I found it pretty interesting. I never thought women in porn would be treated on a level of stardom like that. I had never seen that, and I wanted to get into it. I decided I wanted to try it out." She knew she wanted to be in the industry in "my first year, and the response I got on set after doing my first scene. My Hustler spread had just come out, I did my day on set and then I cashed my check. It was legit. At that point, the only checks I had seen that big were, like, financial aid. It blew my mind that I really got paid for this. And then I got more bookings. Doing the math, I thought, 'This has to work out. I'm not the most voluptuous, or the craziest, or whatever, but I'm curious, and that's the thing that the industry most requires. So I'm gonna stick it out.'
“Everybody gave me an expiration date, four months, six months, a year. People would say 'Girls only last a couple of months—don’t be upset if it doesn't last.' I got a lot of warnings. I wanted to do it, so I kept doing what I wanted to do. There was a little defiance, too. 'Don't tell me I'm only going to be here six months. I'm going to tell me only-six-months. Not you.' I'm a little brat, so some of that was in there."
Foxxx says she’s looking forward to “really cool projects. I think I’ve been here long enough for people to get to know me, and now that I’m a Spiegler Girl they’re going to take me more seriously. I’m hoping it’s going to be getting me more interesting roles for me in the future. My acting is pretty good. I did [the 2015 independent film] Tangerine, and a couple of other movies. I’m really proud of Tangerine.” (Spiegler is also representing Foxxx for mainstream production.)
Foxxx is also producing vignettes for her Only Fans subscribers: “They’re movies, not just people fucking on their iPhones. Scenes with emotions, about 20 minutes long. I’ve let a few out so far, four or five. I’m producing, directing and performing. It’s challenging making sure I’m communicating really well to everyone, that everyone’s comfortable. When I can’t see myself, I have to trust that my cinematographer believes what I say. We have great communication with each other, and it seems to be working out really well.”
For the future, Foxxx says, "I'm looking forward to more directing. I want to direct for Erika Lust, so I'm getting all my stuff together. It's my point of view of sex as a recurring theme. I want to see real live sex. I have so much crazy random sex in real life: Sex in a bar bathroom, on the street, wherever. It's interesting how real life plays out, [because] we try to force the fantasy in porn. I'm really going to try to create the actual, actual real sex in my life. [laughs] Crazy locations. I'm not going to say anything more, because I'm definitely going to get in trouble. It's not something you're supposed to do—but I'm gonna do it. Until I get busted. But fortunately I have bail money, thanks to Spiegler,” she says, laughing.
