Zero Tolerance Returns to Girlvana

Zero Tolerance Entertainment is preparing to release director Mike Quasar’s Girlvana 2 on Sept. 26. Much like the first installment, the company created special packaging for Girlvana 2, which features over 20 girls. The four-hour, two-disc set follow's the company's debut girl/girl release which garned several nominations for 2006 AVN awards.

Travis Nestor, the title’s producer, explained to AVN.com that the second installment strays from the first in a few key ways. “With Girlvana 2, you get to choose from two separate versions of each scenario; one disc with all ‘good girls’ and one with all ‘bad girls.’ The ‘good girls’ are more into stuff like passionate kissing and the ‘bad girls’ are into spanking, spitting and squirting.”

“We were lucky enough to get some really rave reviews from the first one,” said Quasar, “but there were a few people and a few websites that said they thought there were too many toys and it was a little too rough…so I thought I’d make something that everybody could enjoy…for example, there are no toys in the ‘good girls’ versions.

“Travis came up with the idea of doing two different versions and then I decided to shoot the intro to each scene the same way, shot for shot.”

“And now nobody can bitch, because they get both versions of everything.”

As an example, Quasar talks about the scene which pairs Lexi Love as a misguided student and Daryl Hannah as her teacher. “That scene was done in a really playful way,” said Quasar. “But then you have the same scenario with Gia Jordan and Valerie Vasquez and it’s done a lot nastier.”

The shoot was not without its occasional logistical problem, as Quasar explained the unique problems they were faced with when shooting the same intros, twice. “One day, we had some permit problems with a location, and we had already shot one version of the scene, and so we couldn’t just go off and shoot the second version somewhere else…it got pretty brutal sometimes.”

Quasar said that they also tried to stay away from casting the same girls as the first installment. “Sammie Rhodes actually ended up filling in for someone who dropped out at the last minute, and we originally didn’t cast her because she had been in the first Girlvana. But she did an amazing job, and actually made that scene that much better, so I’m glad she got in there…she’s the only girl that’s in both the first and second [installments].”

With 18 starlets performing in sex scenes, Quasar said that casting the title was an important part of the process. “Initially, we made our cast wish list for the movie, and then, inevitably, some people dropped out at the last minute.

“After we had the whole cast assembled, in some cases we asked the girls who they wanted to work with and in other cases we knew that some girls had worked together a lot, like Charlie Laine and Carli Banks.”

“In terms of having them decide whether they want to play a good girl or a bad girl,” Quasar explained, “I just tried to be honest with them and tell them what each scene demanded, and then they were pretty honest about what they wanted do. In some cases, you have a girl like Penny Flame that can go either way; good or bad.”

Zero Tolerance contract girl, Courtney Cummz, who plays one of the title’s many bad girls, said that she was very impressed with the first Girlvana and couldn’t wait to get into the follow-up. “The first one was hot,” Cummz told AVN.com. “I especially liked the scene with Charlotte Stokley, where she plays an innocent little girl.”

Cummz explained that her scene with starlet Katja Kassin had them moving from a pool to a hot tub to a bedroom. “Katja was aggressive yet sensual,” said Cummz. “This was our first scene together and we ended up having great chemistry.”

“Mike is a really awesome director,” Cummz said of the title’s helmer. “He just simply loves women and loves to watch them fuck on camera.”

In terms of the title’s all-girl threeway scenes, Quasar said that he wanted to make sure all the starlets would stay involved. “There always seems like there’s one girl left out, who looks like she’s rather be reading a book or something,” he said.

The title has Quasar creating several different pairings such as Sammie Rhodes, Jenaveve Jolie and Shyla Stylez; Charlie Laine and Carli Banks, and Dee; and Sativa Rose and Penny Flame. Angie Savage and Crissy Moran also perform.

“I’m really happy with it,” said Quasar, “I tried to bring about as much artistry to it, as someone can put into a porno movie…so I’m satisfied.”

The initial Girlvana, which released in Sept. of 2005, marked a number of firsts for the production company. The title was Zero Tolerance's first girl/girl video, its first shot in Hi-Definition and its first vignette-driven production.
