colored reality hit my desk this morning. In his newsletter, there's an item which reads, "Free Speech Board Drafts Ross." Sorry, the Free Speech Coalition did not draft ANYONE and while he received a few nominations, it does not absolutely guarantee a slot on the final ballot. "Undeclared candidate?" So are all the other nominees but in his inimitable way, Ross has chosen to single himself out. By the way, only paid members of the Free Speech Coalition are permitted to vote or run for a seat on the Board."
This is what Ross had to say.
Mike Ross: "For a lady who's in charge of Free Speech, she should check her membership very carefully. I am a member of Free Speech.
"For the record, I am a paid member of the Free Speech Coalition. After representing them as a lobbyist for a couple of years, this is my second year as such. For the record, I lost my card for last year along with my wallet, and my ID number has been changed. My new ID number is 1587.
"Additionally, I never declared myself as a candidate for a position on the Free Speech Coalition Board. As such, people wrote my name in. As far as I understand it, that means I was drafted. I believe it is because of my solid record of accomplishments. Finally, even though I received a few nominations, I did receive them and that shouldn't be taken away from me or any of the other candidates. In closing, it would be my honor to represent the National Cabaret Association, and the members of the live cabaret industry on the Free Speech Coalition Board in an effort that we may work more closely together.
