Xtreme Pro Wrestling Signs Deal with the America One Network; Escalating Feud Between Max and Scotty Has Found a Home

In the past nine months, Xtreme Professional Wrestling has gone from upstart wrestling promotion to the biggest player in the industry outside of "The Big Three" of the World Wrestling Federation, World Championship Wrestling, and Extreme Championship Wrestling. After drawing sellout, standing-room only, turn-away crowds for the past three months, California's own XPW will now present its product nationwide with a weekly television program on the America One Network.

Teaming up with America One allows XPW fans across the country to follow the company weekly. Local A1 affiliates will air the program Saturday nights at 8 PM Pacific / 11 PM Eastern with a west coast replay at 11 PM Pacific. Fans in XPW's home town of Los Angeles can catch XPW on KJLA (check local listings for channel number). A complete list of America One affiliates is available both on the A1 web site at americaone.com or on the XPW web site at XPWrestling.com. Fans who do not have a local A1 affiliate will still be able to see the program by logging on to the America One web site when the program is airing.

"The first four weeks of programming will be used to catch fans up to speed on the major events of the past nine months and who the stars of the company are," XPW Vice President of Operations, Kevin Kleinrock, said. "Wrestling fans will see familiar faces in former WWF superstars Shane Douglas, Sunny, Chris Candido, and Nicole Bass, former ECW superstars Kronus, Axl Rotten, Chastity, B.D. Dudley, and Mustafa Saed, plus new players in the game like "The Real Deal" Damien Steele, "White Trash" Johnny Webb, Supreme, Kid Kaos, and Jimmy the homeless guy."

XPW also plans on adding tapes of their television programs to their home video library. In December of 1999, XPW released their first home video "Hardcore Conception" which is available nationwide at all Musicland/Suncoast stores or on the XPW web site. This spring will bring five new releases to home video and DVD.

In a follow-up conversation, Rob Black said he was willing to provide a venue for a proposed Max Hardcore/Scotty Schwartz no-holds-barred grudge match. The feud has been brewing for several months and was touched off at the XRCO Awards show when Schwartz publically challenged Max.

G. Ross: "You didn't show up at the XRCO show Thursday night when you're presence was sorely needed to cement what may be the biggest event of all time in adult entertainment history."

Black: "Which is?"

G. Ross: "Scotty Schwartz has challenged Max Hardcore to a hardcore match."

Black: [Laughing]

G. Ross: "He wants it no-holds barred and Max has accepted."

Black: "The fuck outta here. Are you serious? They almost get into a fight there?"

G. Ross: "No, but this is something that's been brewing for several months, now. Some of its over a contract girl. They've been on the Internet with this. On Ed Powers with this. This is going to be the best ticket in town. Bad blood runs deep as the locean on this one."

Black: "They want to beat each other up with chairs?...Aaaah, they ain't gonna do it."

G. Ross: "If it goes down, I bet you get a shitload of porn fans out for that one."

Black: "Set it up. But will they show up and beat the shit out of each other? We'll put 'em in a cage. The Don King of Porno will set it up."

Black said he was in negotiations with wrestler Shane Douglas Thursday night which pre-empted his appearance at XRCO. "We're going to work something. Everything's jamming," Black said.

Black also reports that XPW will be moving to a larger venue, The LA Sports Arena. "We went there to map out the way we're going to set it up," he said. "It's pretty scary walking into a 16,000 seat arena and figuring how we're going to do this. But this is a done deal. Our show will be there April 15. The show coming up next week [at the Hollywood Palace] is going to be called The New Franchise.

"And we got a new production team," he added. "Now we got an on-line editing truck and will have two big television screens at the Sports Arena that will be used during the show."

G. Ross: "I also see where you're going to get into Internet broadcasting."

Black: "All of our events will be broadcast live for what that's worth. The technology the Hanco fucking crew has, is like almost watching it live. It's X-amount of frames per second. It's actually pretty good. I've seen it. We been gettin' e-mails and shit from people in Japan who want to see XPW shows...and we got three new wrestlers that will be starting soon. One's like 6'4" and 411 pounds. He's huge....then Nicole Bass comes in Friday night. I'm finishing up two more movies there. Her second one comes out this week. It's pretty out there. She beats the living shit out of this guy [Kyle Phillips] in a kitchen."
