Xobile to Demonstrate Advanced Net Delivery System at Internext

Xobile, a world leader in the distribution of adult movies on mobile phones and wireless devices, says its advanced system for providing two-minute film clips on Internet-enabled portable devices is growing at a rate of 5,000-6,000 new subscribers per month.

Xobile (pronounced zoh-bul), which provides the www.xobile.com website that is viewable through mobile devices, is a division of Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network (AEBN), the foremost distributor of Video-on-Demand (VOD) adult movies.

“Use of Internet-enabled mobile phones and wireless devices is exploding across the globe and is expected to grow by more than 2,000 percent in the next two years,” according to Harvey Kaplan, AEBN’s director of mobile operations. Launched in April of this year, Xobile is adding from 5,000 to 6,000 new viewers per month and converting one of eight trial subscribers to paying customers. “Our growth and conversion rates are phenomenal,” Kaplan said, adding that AEBN will support the service with a marketing campaign using the tagline: “ The BEST way 2 watch adult movies on mobile: Xobile.com.”

“Today's consumers want instant access to quality content,” Kaplan said. “They don’t want to wait until they get home to watch adult movies. Access is private, convenient, secure and totally portable."

Xobile.com's mobile platform will be demonstrated at the company’s booth (#511) at Internext Summer 2005, August 5-7 in Hollywood, Fla., at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa. Kaplan said Xobile would demonstrate a customized mobile solution to its existing affiliates as well as potential affiliates visiting Internext.

Currently providing over 45,000 two-minute clips edited from 4,575 different adult films, Xobile covers 150 different categories, from old classics like Debbie Does Dallas to specialty movies on virtually every sexual interest imaginable.

Each movie clip is about three megabytes, and since the memory cards in portable devices are easily expandable to two gigabytes, the potential to store multiple movies is enormous, Kaplan said, noting that there are 1,024 megabytes in a gigabyte, making it possible to store nearly 700 film clips.

”Xobile gives webmasters easy and profitable access to an emerging marketplace. It allows the adult industry to serve customers in a mobile environment and since customers can access clips while they are on the go, it extends our affiliates’ reach to existing customers who may not always be in front of their PC. Xobile allows affiliates to market to people who are truly on the go and want the portability security and flexibility of a mobile device to watch their choice of adult content,” he said. “For affiliates, this opens up a new revenue stream without any additional work or risk on their part. “

Xobile provides a “credit package” that allows consumers to download varying minutes of movies.

Members of AEBN are automatically enrolled in Xobile and customers pay only for what they watch, with the right to browse, select, and view them on their mobile phone or wireless device.

“These phones are equipped with a default 3GPP media player, Windows Media or Real Player, which allows the movie clip to be viewed. Every one of our clips is encoded in multiple bitrates and in all three formats listed above for maximum device penetration. Multiple speeds are also important. For instance, High speed provides the best quality but requires more bandwidth; Low speed requires much less bandwidth but doesn't look as good; Medium is usually the best combination of speed and quality for devices currently in use in the U.S. marketplace,” Kaplan said.
