Imagine porn delivered to you at your whim, any time of day, anywhere in the world.
That’s the basic idea behind XTV, which has a massive display at this year’s Adult Entertainment Expo, demonstrating what they are promoting as “The world’s first adult set top box.”
Explained XTV spokesperson David Yohe, “It has the look and feel like Direct TV, [it’s] all in real time. But we also offer the same thing as pay-per-view – there are over 50,000 titles you’ll be able to scroll through; once you purchase them, for six to nine dollars, you’ll own them in your digital library for the life of your subscription. You can watch whatever you want, as much as you want.”
What’s more, you can take your box anywhere, as long as there’s a broadband connection available.
“It’s all server-based,” Yohe continued. “The box is just a transmitter, there’s no hard drive. So if you want to take your box over to your friend’s house, as long as he has a broadband connection, plug it in, everything’s on there.”
The XTV boxes are available in both PAL and NTSC versions, so the service will be available worldwide.
As Yohe put it, “It’s taking your computer and taking your DVD collection, putting them together with the look and feel like Direct TV, but just through your broadband.”
