XTV Announces Mainstream Intentions, Officially Launches XTV Cash

Interactive Television Networks (ITVN), the parent company of XTV Networks, announced the official release of its affiliate program XTV Cash and its intent to start rolling out mainstream content.

ITVN is in the process of adding specialized news and sports channels to its Internet-to-TV set-top box. Director of marketing Fabian Citraro told AVNOnline.com that the boxes will initially include localized news broadcasts, which could be available in as little as two months.

“XTV is only going to be one of the networks that we’re going to be offering, but XTV is our flagship network,” Citraro says.

“Right now, when you turn on our box, you only see XTV. Later on, what’s going to happen is you’re going to be given a choice of different programming. You might have local news, sports, music, XTV, and other things like that. Instead of trying to compete with the big boys like DirecTV or cable companies, we’re going to give things a spin of interactivity.”

That interactivity means users will be able to choose to watch, for example, local news from China or a specific sporting event, like the 1982 Super Bowl.

“We’re not at that point yet, but we’re headed in that direction,” Citraro says.

ITVN is currently in the process of licensing content.

In addition to that news, to launch their cash program the lads at XTV are offering affiliates who promote the company’s free 15-day trial a free set-top box of their own. In conjunction, affiliates will pick up $35 per sign-up and make 10 percent recurring. Recurring payments come on the $29.95 per month subscription fee and will also encompass the other channels once they are added.

Affiliates are paid weekly by check, check via Fed Ex, or wire transfer. XTV Cash will be releasing a collection of promotional material, including hosted galleries, picture of the day, gallery of the day, and movie of the day shortly.

XTV Networks consists of 50 live TV channels and Pornholio Interactive as part of the basic subscription, plus a library of pay-per-view titles.
