XRentDVD Auctions For FSC Benefit

Adult DVD rental/sales site XRentDVD is auctioning a poster signed by Carmen Luvana, Ashley Blue, and Austin Kincaid on eBay to benefit Free Speech Coalition in its battle against 18 U.S.C. 2257.

The poster is the same one XRentDVD showed at its Erotica LA booth to alert show goers when the three adult stars would appear to sign autographs. The auction price began at 99 cents, with the auction due to close July 16 at 11:17 a.m. Pacific time. XRentDVD said the company itself will make a matching donation up to $500.

“Before the girls even signed the posters, a lot of the fans at Erotica LA asked us what we were going to do with them after the show,” says XRentDVD general manager Vincent Sorvino, announcing the auction. “We are keeping one for the office but the other one is available for auction on eBay to benefit the FSC. Judging from the lines we had at our booth and the popularity of these girls, this poster should get quite a few bids.”

Free Speech Coalition executive director Michelle Freridge was grateful to have the auction's support.

“We can't thank XRentDVD enough for coming up with such a creative way to raise money to support the legal challenge to the 2257 regulations," she said in a statement. "We hope a big fan of all three stars eventually gets the poster and that he or she realizes how valuable a contribution they will have made. It's also great to see a company like XRentDVD express through action its commitment to this trade organization and to the future of the entire adult entertainment industry. Kudos to them.”

XRentDVD joined FSC prior to the late June hearing that produced a temporary restraining order keeping FSC members free of 2257 inspections and prosecutions through September 7.

“Fighting the 18 U.S.C. 2257 law is not just the adult industry’s problem," Sorvino says. "I highly encourage anyone, not just those working within the adult industry, but anyone that values their First Amendment rights to become a member of the Free Speech Coalition.”
