X Show Gets a Thumbs-Up

A new segment on The X Show premiered Monday night devoted to adult movies, and reviews of them. What can we say? It's a cute bit patterned on Roger Ebert and the late Gene Siskel and gets a big thumbs-up. Hosts John Weber and resident cupcake Ashley Degenford reviewed Antonio Passolini's Raw, starring Kyle Ireland; Michael Raven's Primal Urge [Sin City]; and F.J. Lincoln's Shadowland for Wicked Pictures.

About Raw, Weber said, "There's so many great performances. This is great." Weber gave it four tissues. Degenford particularly liked the anal gangbang scene but thought the ending was "too predictable" and gave it three batteries.

For Raven's Primal Urge, The X Show showed a clip with Alec Metro and Bridgett Kerkove. "One thing about a Michael Raven film," said Weber, "it has great sex but is overwritten - these two people [Metro and Kerkove] are scientists, and they're doing all this scientific dialgue. Basically it's the movie Altered States with porn, still, it's pretty darn good." Weber gave Primal Urge three tissues. Degenford thought it was a sexy couples movie - "Nothing really hardcore," she said and gave it three batteries primarily on the basis of Kerkove and her body.

Re: Shadowland from Wicked starring Stephanie Swift, Weber said, "If you're big on the Twilight Zone, don't miss this. What I like about this movie is that Stephanie Swift sees dead people having sex. F.J. Lincoln directed it. He's old school. I love old school." Weber gave it three tissues. Degenford, however, was not as impressed. She said the story disappointed her. It made no sense," she said. She gave it 1 1/2 batteries.
