X-Play, the production arm of media services company All Media Play, has been in the planning stages for a number of months, but is now finally ready to release their first feature, Pornstar Popstar.
X-Play was designed to provide All Media Play with a creative production outlet.
“This was our original reason for getting into the adult business,” stated Jeff Mullen who worked as director of marketing for New Sensations/Digital Sin before creating All Media Play and X-Play.
Pornstar Popstar casts Simone as a young model who moonlights as a porn star to pay her bills until she is discovered by a record company executive who introduces her sex parties and her own hit songs.
Mullen’s own music industry past plays a big part in the types of projects X-Play produces.
“I do have a background in the music industry where I worked for years with many of the top groups in R&B and pop music, but I never intentionally struck out to combine music and porn,” Mullen said. “However, when I helped Digital Sin land the 50 Cent/G-Unit project, I knew that this was an area where I could possibly edge out the competition.”
"Pornstar Popstar is a great way to have a bit of fun with the music and porn industries," Mullen added.
X-Play is also a co-sponsor of the “Sinful, Wicked, Sex Z Halloween VIP Porn Party” taking place this Friday night at Ivar in Hollywood. Parent company All Media Play organized the party.
“We understand the market and want X-Play to be involved in fun, wild projects, about one per month.”
Pornstar Popstar will be in stores in both VHS and DVD formats on Tuesday, November 2.
X-Play is distributed Phoenix Releasing.
