HOLLYWOOD - Producers Jeff Mullen and Scott David of X-Play have announced plans for a porno spoof of the 1960s TV hit "Bewitched" to be released this spring.
Not Bewitched XXX follows the company's success with the LFP-distributed 'Brady Bunch' parody Not the Bradys XXX. According to Mullen, X-Play has not yet set a distributor for the movie.
"We're going to shoot the movie within the next thirty days," Mullen told AVN. "Right now, we're still casting for the Elizabeth Montgomery role; we've got a couple of girls in mind, but it's still up in the air. Most of the supporting cast is locked in; we've got Nina Hartley to play the mom, Endora."
“We have some fabulous movies for 2008 and I think the fans will enjoy this sixties era 'Bewitched' spoof,” said David. "The crush of sales for our Bradys XXX hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down, so we’re putting all of our production effort into crafting the next set of movies."
Following Not Bewitched XXX, X-Play and director Will Ryder will shoot their Not the Bradys sequel for Hustler and a comedy feature for SexZ Pictures to star contract girl Paulina James.
"I'm not allowed to talk about the project for SexZ Pictures, but it's going to be a big movie," said Ryder. "I think Paulina James is going to be one of the super-fast rising stars in this business, and I'm really excited to work with her."
X-Play is also developing a 'Beverly Hillbillies' parody for Adam & Eve Pictures and a 'Partridge Family' spoof for Hustler.
"We're going to shoot 'Beverly Hillbillies' in the summer for a fall release," said Ryder. "I'd really like to see Bree Olson play Ellie May, and I wrote the part with her in mind."
X-Play scored its first big hit with Britney Rears, released in 2005 through Hustler Video. The pop-culture parody has remained a big seller for Hustler, spawning three sequels including the recently released Britney Rears 4: Britney Goes Gonzo.
"I think we're one of the busiest small companies in the business that actually sells well," said Mullen. "It's a great time to be at X-Play."
