X-Play Partners With New Sensations for Distro

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—On the heels of director Lee Roy Myers' departure from New Sensations, fellow porn parody maestro Jeff Mullen (aka Will Ryder) and his award-winning X-Play production company have agreed to a distribution deal with the company.

The terms of the deal are being kept undisclosed, but it will commence with the September release of Ryder's highly-anticipated Not Charlie's Angels XXX.

X-Play's new arrangement with New Sensations will not supercede its longstanding distribution partnership with LFP Video, which will continue to release most of the studio's titles, nor that it holds with Adam & Eve Pictures for select titles.

“Hustler is like family, especially Drew Rosenfeld (Hustler creative director), who has been a friend of mine for 12 years, and Michael Klein (Hustler president), who has always been very supportive of X-Play, along with Rob Smith, Jeff Thill and David Diamond,” Mullen said. “We continue to enjoy a very successful run with them and also Adam & Eve Pictures with Bob Christian and Meredith Christopher in our corner, so we’ve been really lucky to distribute through two fantastic companies.”

X-Play's Not M*A*S*H XXX will be released through LFP, slated to street Aug. 10. Which of the three distribution companies will handle its recently announced Not The Wizard of Oz XXX, however, has yet to be chosen.

"We have a lot of work to do with a number of big movies coming this next year that are in various stages of development," Mullen said. "They will be spaced out as to not interfere with each company’s own movie release schedule."

The deal with New Sensations marks a full-circle return for Mullen to the company where he broke into the adult industry as a publicist almost a decade ago. Under his Will Ryder directing pseudonym, he has gone on to become one of the most successful helmsmen in the business, being honored this year alone by AVN, XRCO, XCritic and CAVR as each organization's Director of the Year.

In an effort to eliminate any puzzlement about his company's various distribution outlets, Mullen joked, "This might sound confusing but it really is not. Just think of us as the corner hooker who is lucky enough to get it on with three big time players from the high rent district. Believe me, none of those companies need us but we are happy to be with them, and we plan to love them long time."
