X MARKS THE UNIVERSAL SPOT?

An untitled porn comedy spec script for Imagine Entertainment has drawn big from Universal Pictures - the studio giant has put up an estimated $400,000 against $1 million dollars and more, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The untitled script was written by Gigi Levangie, the wife of Imagine's Brian Grazer, along with his brother Gavin, the Reporter says. The story involves a plain man who inadvertently falls in love with a porn star, and is said to take a comic tone likable to Splash, which had a similarly in-the-dark male lead (and made a major star out of Tom Hanks, who played the role).

However, the Reporter says, the script contains no over sexuality or dark tones despite Levangie's taking the story behind the scenes of the porn world.
