Entertainium, the adult movie set that occupies the top floor and soon-to-be-refurbished attic of 2260 E. 15th St., just east of the 110 Freeway, opened its doors on April 4 to a new type of entertainment: The adult flea market and lounge, X-Con, where adult personalities greeted fans, sold their wares and occasionally even performed a bit for a small but eager audience in the studio’s largest room.
Several companies set up display areas where stars signed autographs. Adam & Eve had a small alcove off the main hall which featured Carmen Luvana, star of the upcoming Racer XXX; Teri Summers, who graced the table at Dinner Party 3, and Alexis Amore, another A&E favorite. Sineplex had a table in the main room, with fan fave Brittney Skye signing copies of her own productions, under the Sinsational Pictures label, Brittney’s Perversions 1 & 2. Red Light District got a room all to themselves, with new British import Roxy among the cute babes signing autographs there. KSEXradio also had a presence — and camera crew, taping segments for future Webcast.
Several stars had tables all to themselves, including Kylie Ireland, Olivia O’Lovely and Brooke Hunter, and veteran performer Jeannie Pepper, just back from an East Coast tour with Spantaneeus Xtasy, gave private readings of erotic stories to paying guests.
AIM Healthcare also had a table where they dispensed information about sexually-transmitted diseases, gave out free condoms, and had a flyer advertising the Fille de Joie Erotica Film and Arts Festival, to take place in March, 2005 in Hollywood. Signs also directed attendees upstairs to the unfinished attic, where two companies displayed bondage ware and medical supplies, including doctors’ lab coats and rubber nurses uniforms.
Luscious Nina Hartley, in bra, garter belt and stockings, played hostess to several performers, including Charlie Laine, who massaged audience members’ backs and fronts with their feet on-stage. Dick Smothers Jr. later took the same stage for a comedy routine that got plenty of laughs. We think Pamela Peaks and Kat Kleevage were readying a performance of their own when we left, and entertainment was scheduled to continue throughout the evening.
Among the other porn stars present were Stephanie Swift (with an entourage of gals from her Swift Entertainment agency), Victoria Givens, Pason and Layla Jade, who seemed to be organizing some of the activities. We also spotted a new, trimmer Dennis Hof, owner of the Moonlite Bunnyranch, who claimed to have lost 150 pounds — “112 of them all at once,” he joked, referring to his recent separation from wife Sunset Thomas.
A spokesperson for X-Con said they hope to repeat the event at regular intervals, though no date for the next one has yet been announced. One thing’s for sure, though: If they do gain popularity, they’re going to need a bigger parking lot!
