A new flat-rate, high-speed wireless Internet service for the hospitality industry has been launched at $29.95 per room for installation and configuration, with a monthly service fee of $1.99 per room.
It’s the creation of Wintera Systems, which says the service will let hotel guests use Wi-Fi enabled laptop computers, PDA devices, or Wi-Fi enabled cell phones anywhere in the room or within Wi-Fi-spotted portions of the hotel, without being confined to their desk area or special computer rooms a hotel might set aside.
“For business travelers, the ability to stay connected to their office is essential,” said Wintera president Steve Morrissey announcing the new service. “The hospitality industry offers a wealth of amenities for the business traveler. Adding Wintera Systems’ wireless high speed Internet access as a free amenity to their guest’s, positions a hotelier using the Wintera IRIS WiFi solution as a desired choice in the highly competitive business traveler market.”
“Our IRIS wireless 802.11a/b/g technology provides a simplified pricing structure that keeps installation and operational costs low” he continued. “We customize the IRIS solution so the hotel can leverage the existing Internet access already used for their location. We design a solution that ensures the guest connections are secure from accessing the office LAN, and likewise, office workers cannot access the guest computers. ”
Wintera offers both Wi-Fi and standard wired high-speed Net for hotel and resort properties.
