She once went by Stormy Waters (her dance name) and now by Stormy Daniels, but when AVN first interviewed this petite blonde on the set of Wicked's Best Friends, she was simply "Stormy" — a name, she said, that her dad gave her to suit her personality.
But the stormy side of Stormy wasn't at all evident on her first set, when she stopped by the lensing of Brad Armstrong's Making It, a Stephanie Swift vehicle, in the late spring of 2002 to touch base with old pal Devon Michaels, who played a country-western singer in the feature. Her cute face, long blonde hair and 36DD tits quickly attracted the attention of all the men in the area, notably Armstrong, who immediately offered her a non-sex role in the production... and later, a role in his life as his live-in girlfriend.
But Stormy was unsure then whether she wanted to go into porn, and had only booked herself a couple of girl/girl scenes — one with Sin City, one with JKP — while she was in town, just to see if she felt comfortable in front of the camera. Fortunately, she did — and so it was back to Louisiana to pack up her belongings, and on to fame and (we hope) fortune in Porn Valley.
Since then, Stormy's racked up an impressive 40 scenes, 10 of them for Wicked, with whom she's now under contract. She's also risen from a simple scene player to stardom, having been nominated for her lead role in Not A Romance, and Best Supporting Actress for her part in the acclaimed Michael Raven 'Snow White' send-up Beautiful, which itself garnered several noms.
But no way did Stormy expect to win Best New Starlet.
"I just had no idea!" she exclaimed. "In fact, I bet against myself the night before the show, and now I have to write [husband] Pat Myne a $500 check. I really thought somebody else had it, but I am honored and flattered and extremely excited."
Stormy's recently been expanding her horizons beyond acting, having penned the screenplay for Wicked's Without You, in which she had the pivotal female role, and there are plans for her to direct some features as well.
"I've had probably the best year anyone could hope to have," she told AVN.com. "I stumbled onto a set one day, and look how great it's turned out."
Reminded, however, of the secret wish she disclosed to reporters on the Best Friends set, way back when, that her ambition was to fuck veteran performer Randy Spears — a feat which she accomplished in the award-winning Falling From Grace — she summarized, "And I have, so I guess, mission accomplished, eh?"
But we think Stormy still has a few porn dragons yet to slay.
