Wicked Pictures led the field for third annual Empire Awards nominations, earning 14 nominations, followed closely by Digital Playground, VCA and Evil Angel. Wicked Pictures post-apocalyptic Euphoria and Digital Playground's Rush tied for most nominations for an individual title, both DVDs garnering seven nods each.
Wicked Pictures, Digital Playground, Evil Angel, Private and the Red Light District received nominations for Best Studio.
"We believe that this year’s nominees are outstanding selections in their respective categories and really showcase some of the advancements adult DVD has made in the past year," said Adult DVD Empire Editorial Director Shannon T. Nutt.
The Empire Awards honor excellence in DVD technologies; the 2002 nominations reflect achievement in 18 categories including "Best Selling DVD" and the "Viewer’s Choice Award," which is chosen by consumers. Adult DVD Empire

Bel Ami's Frisky Summer 4 led the field in the Gay Empire Awards with seven nominations including Best Overall DVD. All Worlds Video, Titan Media, Studio 2000, Bel Ami, and Channel 1 Releasing were all nominated for Best Studio for the Gay Empires.
