Webmaster Incentives To Join ASACP: Sex.com

Sex.com is so strongly committed to fighting child porn online that they're offering to pay half the annual contribution for all adult Webmasters joining Sex.com affiliation who also join Adult Sites Against Child Pornography from July 1 to July 15.

The deal means Sex.com will be paying $150 of the standard $300 annual contribution for a Guardian-level ASACP membership, on condition that incoming member Webmasters deposit $500 into their Sex.com account for text, banners, or traffic from any country.

Webmasters get in on the deal by visiting ASACP's membership page and applying to become an ASACP Approved Member, using "Sex.com" as a referral code. On approval, they should deposit the $500 into their Sex.com account.

Sex.com mastermind Gary Kremen wasn't available for comment when reached by AVN Online June 19, but his press representative Joanna said Kremen and ASACP executive director Joan Irvine worked together on other incentives to get people involved in the child porn fight, and that this idea seemed ideal for them.

"Webmasters have to deposit $500 into their accounts when they join Sex.com anyway, so it's better for them to become members with what amounts to a $150 discount," she said. "Hopefully, we can attract Webmasters who haven't previously been involved with Sex.com and would want to be involved with both."

Joan and Gary are pretty close and constantly working on ideas to get people involved. I think it was just something they had for another incentive to get people involved. People, Webmasters depositing $500 dollars into accounts anyways so it's better for them to become (ASACP) members with the $150 discount. Hopefully we can attract webmasters who haven't previously been involved with Sex.com would want to be involved with both."

Once they're approved for Sex.com membership, ASACP will e-mail incoming Webmasters with information on how to make the promotional contribution for ASACP membership.

The Approved Member program began earlier this year, with ASACP expanding it since to meet more demand for its services, reviewing and monitoring all member Websites to guarantee compliance with ASACP's code of ethics and recognizing Approved Members in the ASACP Member Directory.

Kremen's interest from ASACP's inception has helped make Sex.com an ASACP standard for adult search engines, with Sex.com redirecting surfers who search unacceptable terms to ASACP links. And Sex.com is also developing software to let anyone determine if a term is unacceptable under the ASACP code, software that will link to a database of such terms in 40 languages. Sex.com licenses that database to ASACP free.
