WantedList.com Partners With TV's <I>Naked New York</I>

WantedList.com didn't just get favorable attention from some of the top print outlets, after their recent launch as the first online adult DVD service. They hit it off so well when they did Metro TV's Naked New York with Bob Berkowitz that the two have partnered up formally for a weekly movie review segment on the show. 

WantedList.com will sponsor all Naked New York adult movie reviews under the new partnership, according to WantedList.com co-founder Anh Tran. The segment will be called "Porn Reviews with Porno Jim, Bob, and Donna (Barnes, the show's co-host)," airing every Thursday night, and featuring clips from the chosen film and discussion. The first pick, from the July 24 premiere segment: Temptations, compared favorably to a Victoria's Secret advertising spot. 

“(They) seemed to really like us and the concept of the company," said Tran “After the show, we sat down with some of the staff and producers and discussed how we could continue a relationship with the show, and one of the ideas thrown around was for us to sponsor all of their adult movie reviews.  Now every other week WantedList’s staff works with the staff of Naked New York get together to choose four or five movies and submit them to Bob, Donna and Porno Jim for their personal reviews on the show every week.”

SinSpin's Carly Milne, handling publicity for WantedList.com, said other doings between WantedList.com and Naked New York aren't yet planned, "but when (WantedList.com) goes back to New York, they'll go on the show again, and talk about the issues around the (adult) industry. At the moment, it's just a straight partnership."

Milne also said the movie review segment could expand later on, "depending on how well things go." 

Naked New York production coordinator Todd Crusham said WantedList.com had both the selection and the resources to deliver the films the program wanted to review. “They're incredibly reliable and we at Naked New York have quickly come to depend on them – I've found it to be an invaluable tool for locating the adult films that I need for the show,” he said. 

Tran said WantedList's association with a respected show in a key target market "is great exposure. Plus, our current customers and our potential customers get to see what our perverted tastes and preferences are." And, yes, Tran said, there's always the chance that some off-the-wall material will be sent to the show for review.

“Sometimes Todd and I throw in a kinky fetish movie to see Bob and Donna’s reaction," he said. "So far, even though we’ve thrown in some kinky stuff, nothing has really surprised them. Makes you wonder a bit about how much Bob and Donna really likes their jobs.” 

A Metro TV fixture since last October, Naked New York airs Monday-Thursday, featuring all manner of guests, whether famous or not, discussing sexuality and the issues around it. The show is said to reach over 4.4 million New York market households.
