WE'RE JUST NORMAL YOUNG WOMEN

They're just like any other group of college-age women sharing a homeā€¦and it just so happens that they show it all on camera, say the women of Florida's VoyeurDorm - whose online lives and home are under fire from local officials trying to shut them down.

Their home, you see, is the base for www.voyeurdorm.com, a Web site promising to show live pictures of the ladies 24 hours a day, to anyone willing to pay the $34-per-month fee. But last month, Tampa's city council upheld the city's zoning board, which had ruled Voyeur Dorm violated ordinances against sex businesses running in residential neighborhoods.

Voyeur Dorm has said they will appeal the ruling.

The Voyeur Dorm women have told interviewers this week that what they do isn't exactly comparable to strip club activity. "It's not any worse than a regular dorm," one, Tamara, told Reuters. Another, Robyn, told the wire service, "We strip when we want to strip. We don't even have to take our clothes off. We don't come in contact with anyone. We don't give lap dances."

VoyeurDorm.com promises its over 7,000 subscribers that they'll see the women shower, sunbathe nude, and indulge in lingerie parties, but the women say that's mostly advertising to entice subscribers, according to Reuters.

And Tamara and Robyn tell the wire service they enjoy exchanging e-mail with subscribers, some of whom they say have since become "good friends".

The number of women living in the house varies, and about fifteen have live there for a few months at a time since the Web site opened for business last year. They've appeared on ABC and Fox Network news shows, MSNBC, and the national men's magazine Gear, says Reuters. They earn up to $400 per week, working eight hours a day including 2-3 hours in a chat room, and are allowed two nights out per week.

Reuters says friends can visit - but men are not allowed to stay overnight.
