While professional wrestler Konnan was kicking the crap out of fellow wrestler Lux Luger before a hometown crowd at the L.A. Forum, several weeks ago, John T. Bone looked like he was ready to kick the crap out of Konnan's assistant, Ron Rivera, in the beer concession area of the Forum.
Rivera, himself a wrestler who does shows in Tijuana, served as a stuntman in Bone's wrestling feature Hardcore Championship Fucking. In was during this association that Rivera hooked Bone up with Konnan who wanted to do a music video and have some sexy-looking girls [Zöe, Kendra Jade and Cassidy] take part in it. It took a couple of weeks and some subsequent hemming-and-hawing by Konnan over Ted Turner's family values orientation, but the deal eventually worked out. During the music video shoot itself, the girls caused such a stir with fans and extras, that it seemed like a good idea to include them for a walk-on at the L.A. Forum show.
According to the way things were supposed to happen at the Forum, Konnan was to be accompanied to the ring by the girls - cupcakes now being a vital commodity in pro wrestling storylines. Except it didn't go down exactly that way. Communication lapsed, and the girls wound up getting banned by WCW security.
"No way you're going out there dressed like that!" one security guy told the girls. "L.A.'s already had one riot. It doesn't need another!" Notwithstanding the fact that some other blond cupcake, wearing infinitely less, got to do the walk-on with Big Poppa Pump [Scott Steiner] earlier on in the show.
So, while Konnan's kicking the crap out of Lex Luger, Rivera was explaining to Bone, who was sourrounded by three irate women, what the fuck-up was. And Rivera wasn't exactly sure. The deal sounded simple enough. The girls got freebie passes [lousy seats in the nosebleed section]. Then Rivera, at some point during the show, prior to Konnan's walk-on, was to come get the girls and escort them backstage. Then they'd walk out with Konnan.
It got as far as one security guard pointing to a dressing area where the girls could change into bikini-type outfits. But that was it. Another guard stepped in as though he were speaking directly on behalf of Ted Turner, and layed down some smack. The girls were given the resultant ol' heave-ho.
While Bone and Rivera were yapping about fascism in wrestling, a young fan walked up and casually asked who Zöe was. When informed she was a porn star, the fan began looking frantically for something she could sign. The best bet was his undershirt and Zöe obliged, which, of course, prompted a feeding frenzy. Wrestling fans began to swarm the trio in the beer concession area. The souvenir stand began doing a brisk business as fans clamored to buy items which the girls could autograph. One of the fans mistook Cassidy for being Sable [the WWF cupcake] and spread that word.
Bone: "At least WWF let us go backstage."
